Hello Jason, Sounds like you have an handle on Beany’s issue and no doubt we can leave it in your capable hands to sort it out for him. Kind regards, Gareth.

We would guess so Jason, ( guess being the operative word), but no doubt you will be well versed in how much ‘twist’ the belt can withstand when it has been correctly adjusted. Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Absolutely valid concern. My concern is that no one seems to be talking about Audi about whether this issue is actually getting fixed or just repaired. What I’m saying they’re just replacing the broken alternator but are they actually replacing it with something that doesn’t happen again in the future because so far I think they are just putting the a new same part in
  4. I have told my Audi dealer, who has given me a courtesy car, I am not picking my car up until Audi UK confirm that they are working on a software upgrade to give drivers warning on how long their battery will last after chargining fails. If my catastrophic failure where the drive was disconnected, had happened on a Motorway or worse a Smart motorway then my and my passengers could be toast. My wife is now scared of going back in the car.
  5. Quick update and had my local Halfords test my battery and its running at 96% so thats the battery ruled out . So I'm calling in with my mechanic later this afternoon to have the car scanned to if it can shed an light on the issue.
  6. Hello Ben, Welcome to the forum, and sorry to hear of your issue. Have you searched EBay, and registered your ‘wants’ with on-line breaker systems such as Partsfinder? There are more. Kind regards, Gareth,
  7. I’ve had a look under the floor at the back of the car. The battery certainly seems very secure and I couldn’t move it. The only thing that possibly moves is the tray that contains the little tool kit. It is secured with a plastic cover which is screwed down but could be moved. It doesn’t seem to have sufficient weight to cause the noises I’ve been hearing but I hope to try driving later today with this tray taken out and see what it’s like. Watch this space.
  8. Update: this seems to have worked. Took the unit out gave it a good wipe down and dry, put the new gasket in and haven't had any issues since. I've washed the car too so power washer over that area hasnt led to any water ingress. A cheap and painless repair. If only they were all like that.
  9. Hello Dave, As you say, unwarranted warning lights can be due to a below par battery, so well worth getting its efficiency checked. Halfords should be able to do that while you wait, and is usually free, so zero cost elimination - or confirmation that it is at fault. Again as you say, it may genuinely be due to a failing ABS sensor, and you would need diagnostics to check if that is so, and which wheel is the offender. This would be option 2 at cost. Perhaps you could let us know what the outcome is David. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. If the battery tests below par then it may be wise to let us know before committing to buy.
