    Sorry to hear of your problem I have an allroad and touch wood no problems with mine although I've never taken it off road. I think I've seen replacement metal ones for sale which allow adjustment in the ride height if wanted.

If effect, VAG have recently relaxed their recommendation, and it’s up to you to decide whether you stick with the earlier recommendation, or abide by the new.
