  1. Maybe so, but what do you want to get out of the dispute? A grovelling apology? A discount on the price? A full refund? Condemnation from the ASA? Your answer should dictate the action you take.

Greetings all from Kent UK. I'm an old buffer with an early 2017 A6. Not a clue about cars. Just driving around with my dotage approaching. Nice to be here though
  3. Exactly what Clifford said, when you go in don't be woolly or vague in what you want, these people are professionals at what they do and will know they have you on the ropes at that point. Be calm, clear and firm in what you expect from them without it descending into a shouting match, that will get you nowhere. If they won't budge inform them that you will be taking it further and walk away.
  4. Thanks I may go down that road, I just feel I paid for something I didn't get, based on their provided information
  5. While you could involve the ASA, that alone would not resolve the financial aspect of the matter. You would be better advised to approach the dealer for a refund, but be certain to have incontrovertible proof of the true specification of the car as well as its claimed spec. If the dealer is as big a company as you say there is a good chance it will make you a reasonable offer.
  6. There are numerous threads on line re this topic. I never purchased new replacement connectors as the donor parts from the breakers sufficed. As with all online purchases quality will vary. I doubt Audi UK will sell connectors separately as will want drivers to buy the entire fuel hose. In the likely event your side connector tabs have broken it may be temporarily held with light cable ties. This was my case when I was replacing the fuel filter.
  7. High Johnny, I have the same problem with identical couplings, did you ever find ou the answer to this ?, I have spent hours trawling the net with no luck! many thanks Ian. P.s. I was about to buy the same pliers, which I assume are no good for this application? Many Thanks Johnny and Brian for the rally fast replies, I’m very grateful, I sHall buy the pliers as pictured and flood connectors with plus gas also, then give it a go . I shall also look out on eBay for second hand fuel lines with connectors, however if all else fails and I make a hash of removing them , can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable replacement connector that would be up to me job? Thanks again guys. Fingers crossed!
  8. Hi Sweattysocks Specific pliers did assist to some extent. Also applied Plug gas or other penetrating fluid to connectors and pushed down when side clips depressed. Some were however so brittle I had to purchase replacements. Managed to source a fuel lead from an Audi car breakers and used this is a donor.
