  1. Hi Cliff & Gareth, Many thanks for your messages. I fully appreciate how difficult it must be to try and discourage the non-response from members who have been given, what's supposed to be, helpful assistance! Anyway, as you say lets hope it will improve one day Regards to both Chris.

Update to this post, I finally found some time to get this sorted, fuse checked and all ok so it was the washer motor, took n/s front wheel off and inner wing, disconnected washer pump hoses and power supply, this only took and 15 mins. Swapped out old pump for new one and put back everything I did in reverse, job took about 30-45 mins at the most, a nice quick cheap fix 👌🏻👍🏻 Thank you to everyone that helped with this matter Scott
  3. Sorry to say Nick, that rarity does not equate to value.
  4. Paul - my understanding of SFD and SFD2 which is on all new VAG cars post 2020 is to protect the car from unauthorised access. VAG no doubt see a financial return on over the air software updates, rather than a customer having to visit a dealer. Satellite navigation map updates for example. The trouble is the manufacturer needs to lock down access to the car otherwise someone could intercept it and the usual security concerns. VCDS can still scan the car and clear DTCs, but there will be certain modules that are not acceptable. This means programming and adaptation is off the table without a generated access token. You can get a token probably from an authorised user of ODIS. Back to your predicament. I think paying Audi to scan the battery and give you the health information you require is a good trade off before transferring the balloon payment. If you have doubts, step away and hand the car back and start the process again with another car. More details here: https://www.audi.co.uk/en/electric/faqs/battery/
  5. In a word: no. They are all worthless. As you have read for yourself, the exclusions mean the policies will not pay for any of the things the average motorist wants covered.
  6. Further to this topic I have some pictures of the two oil pressure sensors which may be of use. The low pressure sensor (Green body) is part No. 04L919081 pressure range 0.3-0.6 bar. The high pressure sensor ( Grey body) is part N0. 03N919081 pressure range 2.0 - 2.7 bar. The low pressure sensor has a very small hole in it's base of approx. 3mm diam so difficult to see inside whereas the high pressure sensors hole is approx. 7mm diam. with a metal gauze protectecting it, this is what gets blocked and stops th sensor working. It may be possible to clean the gauze on the high pressure sensor and get it working again without spending any money. These sensors are very common across the range of many VAG group vehicles.
  7. Another diagnostic tool is obdeleven. Works on android tablet/phone using Bluetooth connection to the dongle that fits into the car. The pro version can access SFD on A3 cars up to 2023 and does all the things vcds does such as clearing DTC and coding. Can be used on any vag car with no limit on vin. The support is not the same standard as vcds but is generally helpful with queries. If you are only an occasional user less money and no requirement for a laptop. I use it on my 2023 a3 tfsi and fitted a reversing camera and it unlocked the SFD. Also use it on 2019 gti and 2016 seat leon. As Richard says it is still necessary to access odis for some coding parameters on later cars but many independant vag specialists use it so not always necessary to use main dealers. Hope this is helpful in your search for a solution.
  8. How long was water sitting in the fuel system Jonny? It may have caused corrosion of the HP pump and/or injectors. Bare in mind too that remapping can itself cause problematic running.
