  1. I have a 98 A4 Tdi Avant (AFN engine code). Recently the synchro on 2nd has decided to play up, causing slight grinding when changing up and down into 2nd. What im wondering is will a petrol box fit the diesel engine?
  2. Sounds like its from a B5 facelift (99-01) and not a 98.
  3. OK thanx. I will check if it has an egr or not
  4. Thanks Eagle. I will certainly try your suggestions. Its a nice car to drive despite its age and probs. I will let you know how I get on
  5. Its a 1.9tdi AFN engine code. Its 15yrs old now and showing 166000 miles. Think the previous owner abused her alot
  6. I don't love mine. Its my 1st Audi and been nothing but a pain in the butt since I got it. Expensive to repair, not really that good on fuel and a heater that does what it wants. Guess mine was just the Friday afternoon car.
  7. Hi. I am in need of an exhaust from the cat back for my A4 1.9 TDi estate. Its a1998 B5, engine code AFN. I am based in Braintree, Essex if anyone has a sensibly priced 1 they want to sell.
  8. Hi all. I have a 98 A4 1.9 TDi avant with an annoying problem. The cat has broken up and blocked the exhaust causing the turbo to stop boosting. I have tried to remove the cat to get the exhaust off but the securing nuts aint budging. Tried heating them and soaking in WD40 to no avail If the studs snap in the turbo or cat can they be drilled out, re tapped and have new studs fitted? Any help would be very appreciated.
