  1. Hi and Welcome to the forum. I personally would fit the battery myself if it was my car but for what halfords charge its got to be cheaper than the main stealer. Alternatively a lot of tyre and exhaust places swap batteries. I believe the RAC and AA also do the same. One thing i would be looking it is the guarantee you get with the battery.
  2. H Kieren, first thing to check is that the fan blades can spin freely and aren't jammed or seized. I would also check the thermostat is operating correctly.
  3. Hi J, welcome to the forum. I had a 2005 55 plate S-Line 2.tdi and it had done 64K in 8 months as a company car. The 2.0 diesel is widely used in all VAG models and is therefore reliable and fairly bullet proof. Ecomony wise, i was getting high 40's average driving it fairly hard as fuel was free.
  4. Hi Kieren, welcome to the forum. Dont forget to post some pics of the new motor

  10. Want too keen on the size of the wheels which came with the S-Line model so i kept an eye out on the well known auction site and managed to pick up some 21" wheels in gunmetal finish. Old Wheels New Wheels
  11. Hi, ive had my Q7 since December 8th and its averaging 30mpg, managed to get it upto 32.7 on some country A roads this morning but i was driving at 50mph all the time. Im not aware of any known issues but i would still check all the usual things like uneven tyre wear, oil leaks, signs of bad crash repairs etc.
  12. Hi and Welcome to the forum. A nice christmas present, and the quattro will come in handy if the weather turns bad

  14. the 7 seats in the Q7 are proving handy this time of year!

  15. Personally I would get it fitted by a specialist as it will need coding to the vehicle. Try www.vwcruise.com

  19. For anyone looking to improve their vehicles appearance here a a few places you can purchase quality polishes and waxes etc. Most of these post on the Detailing World forum http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk http://www.cleanmycar.com http://www.juicy-detailing.co.uk
  20. Hi, i used an all purpose cleaner on the whole of the exterior to remove the dealers gunk and polish etc. Then i snow foamed it and rinsed it. There was still signs of beading so i used a Traffic Film Remover at a quite strong mix to remove the remaining polish. Rinsed it then washed it . Clay barred the whole exterior using some Meguires Detailing spray as lubricant and some Bilt Hambler Soft Clay. To be honest it was quite surprised at how little the clay bar removed showing that it was fairly clean. i hadnt got any Iron-x left to decontaminate the paint. After clay barring it i washed it again and rinsed. Dried the car using microfibre drying cloths Sealed the paint using PoorBoys EX-P Paint Sealant. Waxed it using Dodo Juice Purple Haze. Cleaned and Clay barred the wheels. Sealed them using Poorboys Wheel Sealant. Next weekend the wheels are coming off so i can seal the rear of the wheels as i was short of time and dodging the showers.
  21. Managed to clean the Q7 today and give the paintwork some winter protection. With all the seats folded flat the back is rather large The boot as normal The boot with the 3rd row of seats up
