  1. Hi Gareth, that’s brilliant mate, thanks. The price isn’t really the issue, it’s more the fact of how much Audi will want to fit the complete air vent module when it’s only the brushed aluminium surround that I broke. Unless I pay the £100 and only replace the housing itself. Thanks for your reply
  2. Morning Gents, I just wondered if anybody on here could help me.I need to try and get a replacement brushed aluminium air vent surround as I broke mine whilst repairing the air regulator. I phoned Audi this morning, apparently you can’t just get the surround, you have to get the complete air vent housing which is over £100. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks
  3. Hello Gareth, Thanks for the reply. What is happening is that the glass seemed to be vibrating due to the winds at motorway speed.I had a gentle look yesterday and it seems like the glass, or a replacement has been glued to the mirror backing and has come loose.I’m driving to Somerset in a few weeks and I don’t really want to chance the drive struggling to see out the passenger mirror. I don’t mind buying an aftermarket mirror glass, but I just want to make sure that I can get the right one, and that the mirror heating still works. I’d try and glue it again myself, but I have no idea how to get the mirror mount out and how to realign it afterwards. Many Thanks Paul
  4. Morning Gents, I’ve had a problem with the o/s wing mirror on my Avant and I’ve finally discovered what it is, the glass must have been broken previously, however the wing mirror itself and the housing are ok. So whoever had the car previously had glued the glass to the mount. Its becoming quite difficult to see out of while motorway driving now.So my question is, does anyone have any idea where I can get a genuine mirror glass or have any idea how much Audi would charge for the glass? I need to get this fixed ASAP really. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Paul
  5. Afternoon guys, I wondered if anyone could help me, recently I’ve noticed that my off side wing mirror glass starts shaking whilst driving at motorway speed. The mirror housing is fine, and has not been hit. I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same and had any ideas for a possible solution? Many Thanks Paul
  6. Evening mate, Thanks for your help on this one. Will have a look in the coming weeks.Much appreciated. Paul
  7. Thanks again mate. The biggest problem we had was packing a pram, travel cot and bedding for our little girl taking up the most room.It almost ended up like a stressful task remembering to pack the car in a certain way to get it all to fit.I will look into the aero bars and locking feet, will need this for September so I’ve got a bit of time to shop around. Did you have to torque tighten the cross bars to the Audi-fitted chrome roof rails? Paul
  8. Hi mate, Thanks a lot for your help on this one,I definitely will be investing in one of these. We were away last week and the car was packed full.Could do without the stress of having such a problem packing it in future.Which bars did you get for it? There are quite a few different types? Thanks again.... Paul
  9. Envy, Thanks very much for your advice,I’ve been trying to google images on an A6 Avant to get a rough estimate on size. Can I ask you how much yours cost? Do you leave it on the car all the time? Only I’ve heard the boxes can be quite heavy and difficult to lift. Thanks, Paul
  10. Afternoon all, I just wanted to ask for some advice really, I am looking at getting a roofbox for my A6 Avant and I was wondering if anyone on here has had one fitted and which size they decided to go for? We’ve just come back from a week away and again had a mountain of stuff. I was looking for a Thule roofbox, but there are also lots of roofbars to choose from, and apart from the price, I can’t see a great deal of difference. Any help would be great, Thanks Paul
  11. Hi mate, thanks a lot.I was looking at the genuine Audi one but I wasn’t too sure. I’ll get one of these. Thanks 👍🏻
  12. Afternoon guys, I wanted to ask your opinion on recommended child car seat protectors. Which ones do you use? I’ve got a group 1/2/3 car seat for my little ones future journeys but don’t want to ruin the seats. Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance. Paul
  13. Evening guys, I am looking to upgrade my car seat for my little one, I just wondered if anyone on here had the Audi one? I tried to look at reviews but they were quite hard to come by. The one I’m after is the one from 9months-3 and a half years old. https://store.audi.co.uk/audi-i-size-child-car-seat-pack-9-months-3-5-year-in-grey-black-4l0019903ceur.html Many other recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I read to stay away from the Recaro. Thanks all. Paul
  14. Fantastic,thanks mate 👍🏻
  15. Afternoon Guys, Got am alert message that the batteries in the key need changing,is this something I can do myself or has this got to be done by Audi? Many Thanks Paul
  16. Hi, it would be interesting to see what you go for! I’ve only had my A6 a month, but I don’t really want to ruin my wheels either!
  17. What do you think guys?
  18. Hi a Steve, thanks for your reply. To be honest,I was so blown away by the power I didn’t notice whether the doors locked or not 😂 I will check today on collection, but it was just something I’d been thinking of this week. Thanks a lot guys.I’ll post a few pictures later
  19. Thanks a lot Mark, am going from a 2001 BMW 3 Series to the A6, so a lot of catching up to do where mod cons are concerned....
  20. Hello guys, I'm due to pick up my Avant tomorrow.I've never had an Audi before so I'm really excited. Is there a way of setting the doors to lock when you go over a certain speed? Thanks Paul
  21. Thanks Steve.Am picking the car up tomorrow, really excited lol 😂
  22. Thanks guys. Will definitely have a look into this. Many thanks again.
  23. Evening guys, Sorry to bother you all again. It is looking like I’m picking up my 2014 A6 Avant this weekend ☺️ I’m going to have to put an Isofix car seat in the back for my daughter, so I wondered if anyone has used the Genuine Audi Child Seat Underlay Seat Protectors? I don’t really want to ruin the seats as they are currently mint, but the extra space was the obvious reason for buying the Avant in the first place. The second thing is, is it easy to fit the Isofix base myself? I read other posts on here that sounded a bit confusing. I also wondered if the Isofix mount is something that can be removed,to allow use of the three back seats when the baby is not in the car,or once installed is it a permanent fixture? Sorry to ask so many questions Paul
  24. Yeah I looked at some reviews and was a little torn between a stoplock and a Disklok. Is the Audi’s keyless security a lot different to that used by Ford?
  25. Hello guys, thanks so much for the warm welcome, much appreciated. My Fiancées Fiesta Titanium was stolen, which was keyless, which was what started me worrying.I was thinking of buying a Faraday pouch and a key box,and leave the spare key at my Mrs’ Mum and Dads away from home.I did look at those steering locks Paul,is that what you recommend? Thanks guys
