  1. But it's not electric power steering on my car, it's run by a pump off the aux belt? I'll stick a voltmeter on the 12 volts and monitor that too but first i'll scan for error codes and see what it's reporting as faulty? But thanks for your input on this one.
  2. I can't see it being the battery? as I had just driven 30 miles with no issues it happened again when I was turning Right again but had the steering on full lock to turn into my driveway at low speed. I'm wondering whether the steering angle has gone out of calibration and then on extreme tight turns it flags up these errors? Will scan it tomorrow and get the codes and maybe try to reset the steering angle settings?
  3. Thanks for this, I'll clear the codes and reset the steering angle and I'll try and see if using live data that the steering sensor is indeed given me sensible readings as this all started happening after I removed the steering wheel and clock spring to fix an issue with the wipers stork? through it's been fine for 2 years? maybe it's just gone out of calibration ?

  5. Have you got a link to this device you purchased? I just use an old 2.5 inch hard disc drive mounted in an USB caddie and that works fine and cost me nothing apart from the cost of the caddie about £10.99 :-)
  6. Think I've sorted it now? Searching on YouTube it turned out by default the Ring Tone Volume is set to zero! While the phone is ringing you have to wind up the volume to max, takes a few turns to get the ring tone loud to hear it over the phone itself but I can now hear the ring tone coming out of the speakers now, because I normally stow my phone in the boot while driving so wouldn't hear it while in there, so a Result for any other who come into this problem 🙂
  7. That looks to be the same system as mine, (Audi MMI 2 from a B8 Audi A4/A5) that connector is a USB interface and NOT Bluetooth, the Bluetooth is only for hands free telephone if factory fitted and NOT audio playback, I have one of those leads which connects with the old style Apple 30 Pin connector for an Apple iPod. But what I use today is the USB version of that lead available from Audi they were £25.00, it has a USB A female connector on the other end and I simple use an old 250GB 2.5inch hard drive from my laptop installed into a USB caddy make sure you format it as FAT32 and it works a treat and it can hold my whole CD collect of 1000's CD albums so there's always something to play, I then just use my phone for making phone calls lol I have made folders A, B, C - Z and placed Artist in alphabetical order that saves a lot of scrolling with the control wheel lol If i need to get to say ZZ - top then its maximum 26 folders and then a few inside Z to scroll though on the MMI screen!
  8. Hi an update, I've followed a YouTube video on a slight different way to Pair my new iPhone to the car so that bit is now sorted, however the problem I have now is on receiving an incoming call I don't hear any Ringtones coming through the B&O audio system? If I've stowed my phone in the boot as I normally do I then can't hear it ringing? as the phone itself is still ringing and vibrating? as I did telephone myself on the drive to check this fact out? Am I missing something here? or is it simply because these new iphones have now moved on to using Bluetooth 5.0 or whatever it is and it's no longer compatible with this 11 year old Audi cars MMI 2 system? Thanks
  9. Hi, I'm trying to pair my new iphone with my car's MMI however after successfully discovering my iphone a 16 Digit Pin number is presented however it says it's time limited ? however it's only displayed for a matter of seconds by which time its gone! I thought I'd try taking a picture of it but of course it generates a new PIN each time you try pairing your phone? Is there any way a setting somewhere can be changed to give you a longer time to enter your PIN? This is with an Audi A4 2009 model year with an MMI 2 installed Thanks
  10. No not at all, I have found out it is indeed low on charge so I am charging it up as we speak to see if that makes any difference, and I have also changed the battery parameters too in the ECU so hopefully the car will now treat it as a new battery 🙂 I could get Halfords to check it there are more codes come up again then if there is indeed a problem with the battery they can supply me with a replacement one as it's still got 4 years warantry remaining on it. Many Thanks Paul
  11. Well I have now managed to change the serial number for the replacement battery so hopefully this will reset the charging circuits and treat this replacement battery as a new one. So it's charging now so will be fully charged by the morning and we shall see if I still get any of these steering related errors come up again, I know about this leveling switch and the fuel locking cap errors I can sort those out later, I'll report back tomorrow after I've had another drive in it 🙂
  12. An update, checked Battery terminal voltage was 12.4 Volts but it's Magic Eye was Black, instead of green so it does indeed need charging so will leave on charge over night. On the point about correctly coding in this new battery, it doesn't have a BEM Code so can I just use its serial number, its a YUASA HSB020 UN2794 110AH 900 cold cranking amps with a 5 Year Warranty and now 1 year old. The Car has only been driven short journeys since March 😞 That's probably why the battery has run down and I'm getting these errors? Going back to the leveli9ng sensor is Front RIGHT mean the drivers side? or is it Right when looking from the front of the car which would mean the Passenger side? Thanks Paul
  13. Well I cleared ALL the codes and went for a test drive, but before I did I carried out the procedure to set the wheel sensor reset by turning steering fully lock both ways twice and drove a short distance in a straight line and stopped the engine? On my return after getting no beeps or warning light I rescanned and I just got four codes, two I can explain because clearly the fuel cap doesn't lock for some reason Central Locking 46 02615 Fuel Tank Cap Lock 02616 Fuel tank Cap Unlock What does worry me is these two codes which I've had for a while Wheel Damping Electronics 14 01769 Leveling sensor Front Right G289 03262 Comfort Restrictor These I need to look into in more detail? and too see whether I get these steering related codes come back on again?
  14. Just scanned it again and I got a load more U111300 Engine Electronics ??? 00778 steering sensor G85 Connector, Short circuit to another Valve? 02615 Fuel Tank Cap Lock 02616 Fuel tank Cap Unlock J 527 Connector 03264 Function Shut off valve Resistance too great? Wheel Damping Electronics 14 Leveling sensor front Right G289 00466 Steering Column 03207 Charisma Switch Module Open Circuit 03041 Energy Active Valve too great?
