  1. I totally agree - I have a Q5 TDI s-tronic, and the concept of the stop/start with s-tronic is even worse, as the engine stops as soon as you halt and apply any pressure to the brake pedal. I over ride the system with the switch every time I fire up the engine Another thing that annoys me on the Q5 is you cannot open the drivers door without the engine switching off, and with the winter coming up this is a pain if you want to start up and let the car tick over to let it de-ice. I have still to confirm, but I think if you have the stop/start over ride switch depressed the engine keeps going if you open the door
  2. I bought a Q5 2L TDI 177PS SE S-Tronic earlier this year - this was delivered with standard SE non- sport suspension set up and 18 inch alloys I really do not enjoy driving the car because of the suspension. I live in a rural area of Fife, Scotland where the roads are not the smoothest around. It is ok on motorways and dual carriageways, but on the undulating roads I drive on every day I can only describe the ride as like sitting on top of a jelly - you get "shoogled" about from side to side Most of the cars I have owned in the past 15 years have had some sort of modifications done to the suspension, and I have had good results from Bilstien Sport shocks, either using original car springs or fitting new springs as well Someone I have spoken to has suggested fitting a KW street comfort coilover kit - this is not only expensive, but I have not spoken to anyone who has actually fitted such a kit to a Q5 My priority is comfort with good driving characteristics - I do not want to feel every bump on the road Has anyone experienced similar dis-satisfaction with the standard Q5 suspension, and made modifications which have delivered goods results - if yes, I would be eager to hear the details of the mods made
  3. Have had my Q5 177PS TDI s-tronic since March, and absolutely love it, apart from the stop/start function I just don't think this function works well with the s-tronic box - engine stops when you don't want it to i.e. if you have to brake hard in town and stop for a few seconds. When it goes again the power steering can sometimes take a split second to kick in - when stopping to park, engine stops when you brake to stop, and then sometimes starts again when you move the lever to P - Having to watch how hard you press the brake pedal when you don't want the engine to stop I am a low mileage driver, and do not commute on roads where there are frequent tailbacks (where the system probably comes into its own) Having to remember to switch on the button to disable the function at the start of every journey is a chore I regularly drive my boss's company car - an A3 170 Quattro with manual gearbox, and the stop start function seems to work much better with the manual box i.e. engine goes off when you select neutral and release clutch pedal Is there any way you the function can be adjusted so it does not kick in so quickly when you brake hard and stop. Can the function be permanently disabled ?? Does anyone agree with my thoughts on this function ??
  4. I use a bytestor usb stick which the sd card slots into, which goes into the USB port on my PC. I just transfer files direct from my PC by copy and paste method. No problems playing in my Q5 and sound quality excellent
