  1. Hello Steve, I have posted on the group page but had no response back. Worst part of living in Aberdeen, I’m at the wrong end of the country.
  2. Yes Steve. Sometimes you just never know.
  3. Hello. Is there anyone that lives in our around the Aberdeen area that can assist? I have an A4 B7 S Line Saloon and the front drivers side electric window will not operate. When the switch for the window is pressed all I hear is strange noises and no window movement. Due to serious illness I cannot bend over or crouch down for any length of time. Is there anyone in the local area that could strip the door down, remove old window regulator and replace with a new one then reassemble the door. If there is, can you message myself a cost to carry out the work. The car is located outside Bucksburn head toward Haudagain Roundabout. I’m not too sure when the job can be done as I am frequently admitted in to ARI. I look forward to any replies. Regards, Stuart.
  4. I will give them a try. As you say it’s luck of the draw if you get an answer back.
  5. Myself too Steve. I find one problem then unearth other’s too. It’s enough to make a Priest cry.
  6. I am doing fine thank you. Was going to do some jobs on the car but the rain that on right now is due for the rest of the day. Oh well. Will have to do something else.
  7. Hello Steve. I did get confirmation of a part number from the Parts Department. Audi were looking for over £900 through them. I’ve been checking on EBay but it seems to be a air bag that is not one that gets posted for sale. I don’t know any of the U.K. based Audi Dismantlers so it’s going to be a good while until I manage to find one at a reasonable price. Trust you are doing well. Cheers, Stuart.
  8. Hello Steve. What you state I have done and gave them the part number off the steering wheel. Just a case of waiting to see what information they come back with. Again, thank you for your reply. Regards, Stuart.
  9. Is anyone able to assist on this question as I’ve been searching for information online but their is so many part numbers and the air bags have slight differences it making it impossible for me to pinpoint the correct fitting airbag. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Stuart.
  10. Thank you for the reply Steve. I’ll start looking for a TT air bag. All the best. Stuart
  11. Hello, I’m looking for some information with regards to a air bag part number. I have purchased a flat bottom steering wheel that came out of an Audi A3 8P. I’m looking to fit it to an Audi A4 B7. the question I have is can anyone advise the correct part number for an air bag to fit this steering wheel. I would greatly appreciate any information given. Thank you in advance. Regards, Stuart.
  12. Hello, Can anyone advise if a A4 B8 steering wheel will fit in a A4 B7 correctly and the multi function switches will operate as they should. The 2 attached pictures show the current steering wheel fitted and the other the steering wheel that I’d like to replace the existing wheel with. Also, will the air bag fitted currently to the wheel in the car fit the B8 steering wheel. Thank you in advance.
  13. Hello. Im looking for advice on the base plate that secures to the floor for the arm rest. the previous owner removed the the arm rest but the base plate is still secured in position. However the bolt that fits in it to secure the vertical mount of the arm rest is missing. Can any one confirm the size and length of the bolt that should be fitted. Also, looking for advice on how to unscrew the floor mount base plate so I can remove it to fit the correct bolt. Following picture refers to the plate I refer to and shows the bolt that is missing from mine. Thank you in advance.
  14. Thank you Gareth, I will go through the breakers search sites.
  15. Does anyone have or know of a breakers yard that has the following 2 items. Audi A4 B6 / B7 front ashtray unit in Soul Black. Audi A4 B6 / B7 gear lever surround in Soul Black. Looking for the above at sensible prices. Thanks in advance.
  16. Thank you Steve. There is quiet a bit of work involved plus additional parts. Going by the tutorial it is best to leave the existing mirror in place as their is no margin for errors. Thinking about it the tinted rear windows should eliminate any cars driving behind with head lights on causing a glare. Again thank you for the link to read up about retro fitting. Regards, Stuart.
  17. Good afternoon. Can any one please advise on the following. I have an A4 Saloon. The interior mirror fitted just now is the standard one. Can I fit a dimming rear view mirror and is the wiring for it to connect to within the opening in the roof lining and easily assessable. Any advice would be welcome. Thank you in advance.
  18. Perfect Steve. I did wonder if the key reset would be required. Once things have calmed down I’ll have a look for the CD changer. It’s not too much of an issue as I will swapping over the Audi head unit to a Pioneer Double Din unit I purchased. All the best, Stuart.
  19. Thank you Steve, greatly appreciated. Have a good day.
  20. Hello, I am a first time Audi owner after purchasing my car 2 months ago. The colour is what sold the car to me which is Mauritius Blue which I think sets the car off. Just going to spend some time getting used to the Forum and will ask questions when the need arises. Well good bye for now. Wish you all the very best. Best regards, Stuart.
  21. Thank you Steve Q. The car did have a good bit of service history and it has had a cam belt kit and water pump fitted the middle of last year. There is no mention of the oil pump. To be honest, the car will hardly do any miles due to myself having various serious health issues which means I can no longer work. My way of thinking was to prevent a major engine fault that could destroy the engine. Looking at it, due to the low miles I would be doing in a year, then it would better to leave the engine as is. I was just thinking that due to the horror stories of the oil pump failing to replace it. The cost of the new up graded pump unit is around £350.00 plus fitting which is a good amount of money. I’ll leave the existing pump in as it is. Is there a specific mileage that I should take into consideration of replacing the pump? The turbo did have a leak test carried out which it passed all ok. One thing I did notice was that there was no mention of the glow plugs being replaced. I’ll keep an eye on it in case poor starting crops up. One issue I will have is the battery will probably be dead now. I was going to replace the battery if it was the case but apparently the new battery requires to be matched to the car. Do you happen to know how to go around this. I have an hand held OBD2 device but not sure if this would cover the matching process. Or is it the case the battery can just be fitted to the car and it will operate ok. Lastly, I have the Audi Navigation Plus unit fitted in the car at present which I will be swapping out for a Pioneer Double Din head unit. Doe these normally come with a CD multi disc changer fitted as standard. I checked in the glove box but nothing was there so was unsure if it would be fitted else where in the car. And last question, does the rear seats split fold down at all? I’ve only been out to the car one in 2 months so not really had a chance to give it a good looking over. Again, thank you in advance with your previous assistance, and I look forward to having a good look around the forum. best regards, Stuart.
  22. Hello, I purchased a Audi A4 B7 2.0TDi Saloon 8 weeks ago. Due to serious ill health the car has just sat from when the delivery driver parked it in the car park. It is a 2007 2.0 TDi engine model. The question I have is the car has covered 139k miles. I have read up about the problems the engine can have have. What I would like to ask is what key comments of the the engine should be replaced and upgraded so it does not suffer with component failure. i would like to know the parts that should be replaced and the best place to purchase them from. The wing mirrors fitted to the car are painted Silver, but the car body colour is Mauritius Blue. Should the wing mirrors be in the Blue or is the Silver correct. lastly, the rear view mirror is just the standard one fitted at present. Can this be swapped out and the auto dimming mirror fitted and is the wiring in place in the loom at the hole where the rear view mirror fits. If you require any further information please advise. Thank you in advance. Stuart.
