Hi Plaman, Sorry pal I dont think your motor is in the right bracket for the repair or issue (Incorrect size piston rings) its Years 2008 - 2012 so I dont think Audi UK will take your issue on.

Hi Guys, Read as I may I cannot find out how much oil my 2010 Audi A3 1.8 tfsi holds its going for stage one oil consumption test and i think the previous services were not with 5w 30 oil. so i am going to change the lot as i dont want Audi to analyse the oil and say we are not paying for your engine as they did not use the correct grade oil. Hi Guys,Unfortunately I now appear to be using oil but haven,t noticed any smoke I have done around 1100 miles in the last month and put in a litre of oil I have just contacted Audi Preston regarding this only yesterday Saturday 03/06/2017 so have not had a reply yet. My car is a 2010 A3 1.8 TFSI model and 71100 miles it has Audi long life services at 18703 miles 33662 miles 50642 and 59315 and two indie at 67100 and 70000. Do you think these services are adequate enough to get the oil consumption tests free and possibly the piston piston rings and con rod change if necessary. Does anyone know if anyone has been refused and for what reason ? I also see Carter and Carter solicitors Stockport advertising to take anyone's case on that has been refused on a no win no fee basis has anyone used or any info on them just in case.Thanks in advance for any advice Jeffers.

Hi Martins, Went to see the car Thursday 11/05/17 and fell in love its a dream of a car so bought it went for a run Friday it will guzzle if you gun it and I did,nothing too heavy only 80 top end but plenty of fast starts but it feels powerful no matter what speed you are doing. Its a petrol so the sound of the engine under acceleration is wonderful. I had a small problem with the brakes it didn't seem to brake hard at all a gentle push and braked as normal but when I tried to brake hard a couple of times I had my heart in my mouth I thought I was going to back end someone. So I calmed down and came home normally I went to the car this morning and pumped the brakes with the engine off I then started it and gave it some more pumps, I then went onto the road and while it was quiet did a couple of emergency stops and all seemed ok after that car stops on a tanner now so it might have been stuck on a forecourt for a while and got a bit of air in the system but seems ok now. It has done 70000 miles and no sign of any smoke at all from the exhaust so far so I am thinking it would have happened by now if it was going to. Cheers.

Hi Martins, That sounds good boot size and a massive thumbs up to Audi for the rebuild you must have full Audi service history this one is advertised with a comprehensive service history so I will be looking closely and am considering taking out an extended warranty. Its a bit of a bugger all this nowadays you didn't have to do this when they were simpler engines. Cheers

Hi Iwan, Don't have a clue on the price but there are several advertisements for the North West that repair /refurbish any type of auto box and others down South. In the North west they are around the Preston area and do advertise pick up not on your doorstep but not too bad hope you get sorted and not too expensive. Cheers

Hi Martins, Thanks for the reply I am test driving a 1.8 FSI sportback stronic this week and am looking forward to it.Hows the boot capacity I am a golfer and go away a couple of times a year and need to get two sets of gear including two trolleys in it. However with the seats down it looks well big enough. I assume you have had no issues with the excess oil burning or timing chain stretch(fingers crossed)the posts I have read do say if your car has more than 45000 miles it will probably not occur as it should already have done. The one I am going for has 70000 on the clock and a 2010 plate. Thanks.

I am undecided at present as to buy an A3 or A4 about a 10 - 12 plate petrol auto box both have issues and I cant make up my mind I have a qashqai at the moment with the CVT gearbox with no issues as yet but am constantly monitoring the gearbox. The A4 I believe has the same box and excessive oil usage any advice would be most appreciated. Cheers

Hi Guys, I have seen an A4 V6 2.4 cabriolet petrol automatic O6 plate that I have fell in love with anything about it to avoid. I hope not its gorgeous its 6.5K done 76K miles Please advise. Cheers

Hi Guys, Went again but the engine management light came on this time took it back to the garage and he found the fuel pressure regulator had a smear of oil on the diaphragm making it stick. He cleaned it off put it together reset the EML. and whammo bob on again back on the machine and no faults. Fingers crossed

Hi Guys, Had he car serviced and the mech put it on the machine, It revealed a low fuel pressure fault. He found the plastic tee piece where the fuel enters the top of the fuel filter to have a hair line crack in it. No other faults present replaced the tee piece and serviced he car and bobs you uncle fannys yer crack fingers crossed all done. Cheers.

Hi Guys I have a 55 plate A4 B7 automatic I was driving along and decided to overtake the motor in front but there was nothing there. No growl from the turbo no engine revving nothing then the car started to pick up slowly I drove conservatively for the rest of the journey. Coming home all was brand new again bags of power and the turbo kicked in as usual. There was no warning or nothing there is no engine management light I did a functionality check everything was ok. The cars due a major service but has only done 66000 I have it booked in next week for service. Any ideas so I am not flattened by what the service reveals my mechanic said could be fuel pressure or maf flow metre.

Hi, I have just bought another A4 and got the garage to put another cam belt and water pump on. However the heater on the drivers side does not heat up work and the passenger side is only warm. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.
