Gareth , I think they are handed as the driver's door side operates the main window switches so I presume it has more wires than passenger side in the loom but im not 100% sure , what I'm thinking is buy second hand one fit it and then repair my old one and keep till needed 😉

Cheers Gareth I've got one thick broken brown /red wire that goes to the window motor plug I've managed to do a temp repair but it's so near the connector below the A frame it's difficult to do , So by the time I've messed with it perhaps it would be just as easy putting a new loom in the door , I've seen some on the bay cheap but how long before I have the problem again fitting a second hand one

Does anyone have any ideas were I can buy a new driver's door wiring loom for my 5 door a3 sportback

Thanks for the reply @cliffcoggin I hope so, it seems fine now just a minor issue with it being tight on down travel so I will sort it tomorrow morning weather permitting

Finally got the window working all I did was open all windows with key then close on key the front now works it just seems tight at the bottom so if the weather is OK tomorrow I will do some adjustments and keep my fingers crossed 🤞

hi all just fitted a new window mechanism in the driver's door has the cable had snapped now all back together but the window motor is just clicking any ideas of problem are much appreciated Thanks in advance

Does any members have any idea how to remove the drop glass , as today something broke inside the door and now the window won't operate car is a 2010 a3 sportback Thanks in advance
