  1. droplink cost under £8......thought might as well buy it for that price as normally gotta cut the bleedin thing off anyway.
  2. done it with great difficulty without loosening driveshaft.....was difficult tho....turned out the spring wasnt broke.....day wasted lol.....got a spare spring and droplink now.
  3. Hi just a quick one..... i am attempting to remove the nearside strut from my audi a3 2008 it seems i have to remove the driveshaft bolt to enable me to lift the bottom of the strut out.....is there any other way of removing the strut without removing the bolt as its the tightest bolt ive ever come across.....any ideas will be greatly welcome....thanks
  4. surely this one should fit???? ebay always seem a bit daft when they see if its the right fitment???? wadya reckon??
  5. thanks i will try that.......i have sought a few CV joints but then i find "its not suitable for your car" ????? are they all different???? surely at least the diesels etc are the same ???
  6. Hi ,when i reverse from my drive and have steering on full lock i get a clunking noise coming from the front wheel area, when i drive forward and put on full lock either way i cannot hear a noise....i suspect maybe a shot CV joint but dont want to pay out until i am sure....are there any more checks i can do?? cheers in advance.
  7. TBH it sounds like your dpf cleared naturally by doing a regen like its supposed to do,i deleted mine and the EGR and had a remap so the lights dont come up any more, went thru the MOT ok......trouble is if i ever sell it i would have to inform the buyer.
  8. all depends on the cost really,i'm sure the tester gave it a good whack with a screwdriver and decided to put an advisory.....if it was any near that bad he wouldve failed it i assume.
  9. shouldve ripped out the DPF innerds and Then got the lights deleted when having the remap.
  10. sounds trivial to me....probably a bit of surface rust and a over zealous inspector
  11. I was gonna get a new one (£35 on ebay) in the end i took it off completely and now no longer have one,i can easily bang one on if i change my mind.....super easy to do........evidently the design for these left a bit to be desired and it is a common fault....same one on VWs.....look out for loads with the wiper pointing down to the road😄......
  12. Steering wheel full lock left ,then full lock right, then drive straight and that usually clears it,by doing the initial work on the car sometimes a host of lights are thrown up,have they tried just deleting the fault???
  13. i drilled the steering lock out in the end,the ignition cylinder is made of chocolate and the actual lock is steel so i guess like mine there is damage inside the barrel
