Ideally you need to measure front and rear wheel arch gap. Going to an et35 is the same as putting a 10mm spacer as long as the width is the same, as going wider alters the amount of spacer required or offset required.
  2. I think its project over for this year, the ecu is still at parcelforce, it has been since 18th June. I don't think I will see it anytime soon and I cannot do anything else untill it arrives.
  3. There's usually a stop start button to switch the system off, or a light in the instrument panel.
  4. I think its going to be a long time untill its running, the new ecu has gone missing and demon tweeks are useless, i would never buy anything from them ever again. I was going to get everything needed to finish it off from them.
  5. The trim pieces have been kept in case anyone needs the set, I have the 4 door pieces too and apart from a few clips they are in good condition. Once its running again, it will be off to get a roll cage made, as there's nothing available to buy.
  6. The ecu will be a haltech if it arrives, the immobiliser will not be there, as its not got one in the ecu.
  7. I don't understand the first post bit, you bought a new engine, then put it into storage for 2 years and then got the issue, or was the new engine put in after the 2 year storage. The fuel would be 2 years old unless you drained it and the fuel filter would be blocked. I fitted a brand new engine from vw into a transporter and they hadn't tightened the new injectors from the factory, I would be checking everything in case its not sealing properly. Did the new engine come timed up, the vw one had no belt and no fuel pump but it had injectors.
  8. Just a small update, while waiting for the ecu to arrive, nearly all wiring that is not required has been removed. The ecu will go behind the glovebox as thats where the engine wiring will come through. The column switches will probably be removed, as the new switches will be on the new steering wheel.
  9. That is low considering the others were at 200 psi, but that was after 2 days and only a few miles so a good run it would probably come up more. Any car that had been started up, moved a few meters then switched of before coming off cold start will be bad on compression for a bit.
  10. How low is the compression, I've had some cars that just needed some gas treatment in the fuel tank that help clean the valves. I did an a2 last week that brought the compression up from 50 psi to 90 psi.
  11. Now free to anyone who can collect, if not they will be going in the scrap pile.
  12. The car will be on standalone engine management, so the fuel pump will be run from the ecu via fuel pump relay, so a lot neater. Everything has been taken out so far, even the door wiring as its going fully stripped. More progress in the near future once parts arrive.
  13. The ccm is out, all wiring will be removed and start from scratch. The windows will be ordered next week, the ecu will be ordered next week.
  14. More interior removed, it still starts too, dash out next to remove unwanted wires and control units. On a plus side, the original issue has been found, a corroded plug behind the dash probably caused its issues.
  15. Due to turning the car into a track car, the seats and door cards are no longer needed. They are green and grey with wooden look trim. They need cleaning up and the rear seat is damaged at the top plastic part but it still locks in place. £200 ono with the wooden look trim. Collection only though from north west, near Preston. I also have other trim pieces from the c5 saloon that are now out of the car.
