  1. I have used the brembo 17z 6 piston ones, they bolt to the hub carrier but I had to use a 16.5mm drill on the old mounts, then a nut and bolt. I also had to change the bolt on bearing and hub as it is a wide track car, so I used standard bolt on audi a6 c5 parts. I used a Mercedes c class 330mm discs, but had to drill the wheel stud holes from 12mm to 14mm, also enlarge the centre hole a tiny bit. The brake hose will be probably for a porsche cayenne. I can imagine it being easier on a standard track c5, with bolt on bearing as that wouldn't need changing.
  2. The only thing I have had similar was that the cooling system was blocked on a 2017 passat, it ended up being the silika bag in the coolant bottle had burst, it blocked the matrix and the cooling system.
  3. Untill the new wheels arrive, I have put the old ones back on. I am undecided on the color, but the new wheels are bronze so the black calipers may look OK.
  4. The porsche calipers fit good, the front wheels have been ordered. The only issue is that I have had to fit the left on the right and right on the left, due to them coming from a porsche which had them at the front of the hub carrier.
  5. I have got the car back from it's winter break, i hope to get it back on the road this summer. The clutch pedal box has been welded into the floor, I opted for a separate pedal rather than trying to change the pedal box from a manual c5. The clutch pipe needs fitting and the prop shaft needs fitting. The centre diff has been welded so it should run rear wheel drive now. The rear brakes will probably stay standard, the fronts are upgraded. I bought a pair of porsche 17z brembo calipers, but on trial fitting they don't fit with the wider s6 hubs and discs. I changed the wide track front hubs to the standard track front hubs from a seat exeo, with some mercedes c class 330mm discs and they all fit together fairly easily but i had to enlarge the mercedes disc centre and drill 14mm wheel bolt holes. The wheels will now need to be 10mm more offset, but I needed new ones anyway so no big issue. The interior has come from a c5 allroad, so it now has door cards and seats. I have added a rear spoiler, but nothing too major. Pictures of progress will be added, once it's going back together.
  6. I came back from holiday and the car has come back from the fabricator, my only requirement was that I didn't want it to need spacers and now it doesnt. The wheels fit great, maybe a narrower tyre needed. I need to get it running again next, then fit the front coilovers.
  7. The only progress this month is that the car has gone to the fabricators for some welding, hopefully I can then get rid of the spacers and fit the coilovers, the car sits too high as I have removed a lot of weight, the auto weighed a lot compared to the manual gearbox. I will update when the car comes back probably in july some time.
  8. Which model c5 do you have. Once the rear end is cut and welded, I will update the progress.
  9. I am new to audi ownership, I found this audi s6 for sale pretty cheap. The main issue was the gearbox didn't drive, it had no interior, the wrong wheels and no exhaust. I bought it for the engine mainly. That idea changed once I saw the car, so now I'm putting it back on the road instead of scrapping the shell. The auto box has gone, it now has a manual box, I just need to sort out a clutch pedal and pipes. While I was searching for parts, I found some nicer wheels, I just need to sort out the rear suspension so I can fit the wheels without spacers.
  10. Hi, I built a peugeot 106 many years ago with a mid mounted v6 rear wheel drive. I never finished it due to various things, so this time I have built a chassis to mount the v8 and running gear to, which will end up with either a light weight S6 body or a VW polo body. I need to remove the gearbox anyway as it is broken.
  11. Hi all, i am mat and I'm new here. I have just purchased a 2001 S6 which needs quite a bit of work. I bought it mainly for the running gear for a project, but the car is in very good condition apart from the lack of interior, but the auto gearbox has an issue. I will be browsing here for info and main issues.
