  1. Your welcome David, but if you do got for the SQ5 Vorsprung I should just mention the only issue I had: it was the pedal lag especially after coming from the Q5 with dual clutch gearbox, which had no pedal lag at all. Once you are aware of the issue there are several ways to minimise the lag like selecting sport with gear shift whenever you think you might need a quick move off from a roundabout or junction, or blip the throttle for an overtake (shifts down and ups the revs for a few seconds) or manually shift down. I use all three but if I haven't remembered to do any at least I know there will be a lag then a sudden surge of power which, if not turning too sharply, is managable. Of course if your not an agressive driver like me then this won't be a concern for you 😊
  2. I agree 100% that air supension is the best ride! I had a 2013 3l Q5 and the ride, especially when towing a large caravan, was very jarring. Fitted some active suspension improved it enough for me to keep it until it had done 100K and in 2024 I ditched it for a 2020 SQ5 Vorsprung and only wish I'd done it earlier.
  3. Thanks Gary, very useful.
  4. Just checked to see how long a bit of wire I might need when I saw the panaramic sunroof - damn, guess I'm going to have to find another way! How easy was it to drop the interior light? Might be able to get access to headlining above driver's door and then to the side pillar.
  5. Thanks for the update Gary and I'll certainly give that a go; seem much easier than removing that front screen side panel. Plus it means I can place all three wires for my system on this route - originally I was going down both front side panels.
  6. There may not be much turbo lag but there is a thing known as pedal lag - I notice it much more with the SQ5 than I did with the Q5. Basically the throttle is slugged such that acceleration response from a stand-still is delayed unless you're in sports mode. I try to alway flick mine in sport when approching a roundabout or junction in case I need a quick getaway.
  7. Not been a problem for mine with 1500 miles of towing a large caravan
  8. @LordFridge I've tried to do this on my 2020 SQ5 and although I found a video that showed how the front pillar trim is attached and what you need to do to release it, I just didn't manage it! It's held in place at the top by a post in the bodywork and a sliding latch in the trim. The latch need to be slid upwards but getting to it involved distorting the roof liner just above the piller to allow access. When I tried it I could see the latch but could not move it and I had to stop in case I damaged the liner trying to get better access. Don't be tempted to use any tools to lever the trim off!
  9. It means your car needs to go to the workshop but as it's holidys just suck it up or get a taxi
  10. Oh and if you do decide to replace it, don't go for a cheap after market one like I did, yes it gave me back my acceleration top end performance but it was even harder to start. Changed it for manufacturer's original part and all issues fixed.
  11. Jessica, take a look at this link for the symptons of a bad MAF sensor and count how many apply to your car and then you can decide whether to change it or not: https://mechanicbase.com/engine/mass-air-flow-sensor-symptoms-maf/
  12. Hi Jessica, I would suggest checking out your MAF s'tensor - when I had an issue with one it did just what you describe - significantly reduction in performance and erratic idling response. I doubt it's the battery coding issue; the stop/start system just check if the battery is capable of delivering the power without causing excessive voltage drop (if it isn't then it could cause other electronic components to hic-up during the startup which you really wouldn't want) and if it senses a problem it just disables the stop/start system.
  13. Hi Haines17, I've just joined this forum after buying the very same car last Sunday (colour and all). I'm very pleased with it apart from the pedal lag issue - having come from a 2013 3L Q5 I'm having trouble getting used to this 1s lag especially when pulling away from junctions & roundabouts; how are you finding it?
