  1. The TFSi engine does have a cambelt Here is a link to Audi's fixed price servicing with costs for cambelt, etc https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-maintenance-mot/fixed-price-services.html#/fixPrice?id=4&serviceCode=SERMIN
  2. Hi Benji...welcome to the Club! How are you enjoying the A3 so far? Cheers Trevor
  3. Hi James...welcome to the Club! Glad to hear you've sussed it now and hope the job went okay? Cheers Trevor - Admin
  4. Hi...welcome to the forum! Two points that jump out at me from those readings... 1. The vehicle speed is registered at 255kmp? surely not! 2. The voltage at terminal 30 is only 9.0 volts...which would suggest a poor earth, grubby connections or old/defective battery. I would go back to basics and test the battery, any connections from the battery and to the starter and if the battery is low on discharge test, I would replace it. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor- Admin
  5. Hi Jamie...welcome to the forum! Great looking car .... looking forward to seeing it modded over time. What's your first mod, or is it too early to say yet? Cheers Trevor - Admin
  6. Great looking car Carlos...you keep it very clean!
  7. HI Thomas...welcome to the club! An A3 is a great one to start with and ideal for modding over time. Let us know how you get on with purchasing one. Cheers Trevor - Admin
  8. Usual fault is high pressure sensor going faulty...could try that if it comes up with fault code for it.
  9. Hi Andrew...welcome to the club! Thanks for sharing the piccies...what a stunning machine! Great mods on it so far...got any more planned? Cheers Trevor - Admin
  10. would definitely try the micro-switches first...definitely the cheaper option
  11. Hi MItch...welcome to the club! Lovely looking car, and I would say it is crying out to be modified Keep us informed on your progress with it, would love to see it evolve over time. Cheers Trevor - Admin
  12. The ones listed at the top of the page on the link (below) are ones that I was looking at some time ago but never got round to trying them...may need to research the application procedure but I have heard they work well. Also, picture shows vanes all gummed up https://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A9mSs2rEyq1XoTsA5JtLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTB0ZTgxN3Q0BGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNwaXZz?p=turbo+cleaner&fr=mcafee&fr2=piv-web
  13. HI Barry...welcome to the Forum! That sounds very odd as if it was warped discs it would occur all the time, albeit with different feedback at varying speeds. Same with wheel balance, which will always occur at around the same speed and you can drive past it by going faster. But your problem is strange if its intermittent...would check to see if anything is loose as opposed to worn (if it was worn the fault would be there all the time) Keep us informed on how you get on with it Cheers Trevor - Admin
  14. Hi Nick...welcome to the Club and the wonderful world of Audi That looks superb...great colour too ! Enjoy the sunshine, Cheers Trevor - Admin
  15. You could try running turbo cleaner through the engine as the variable vanes tend to gum up
  16. Hi Dave...welcome to the Forum! that's an unfortunate situation...made worse by the lamp coming on. You could try cycling the gears through the range e.g. going from low to high gear and back a few times with the ignition on as maybe it needs to relearn the gear selection positions? Anyone else experienced this before???? Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor - Admin
  17. We're looking into it at the mo...will post something up as soon as we have some designs on the board
  18. Hi Matt...can only think it may be the variable vanes sticking...could try running a specialist cleaner through the induction system or directly in the turbo. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Diesel-Engine-Turbo-Cleaner-Cures-Limp-Home-Mode-Variable-Vane-Turbos-/152003334878?hash=item23641ad2de:g:lQ4AAOSwZ8ZW2O4l
  19. Too many miles for my liking !
  20. It looks very clean and incredible condition for the mileage...and the money!
  21. I would probably time up the camshafts independently just in case the marks are incorrect...if it's still tensioned correctly then I would imagine there are teeth missing somewhere, probably down by the crank pulley? As you say, the engine is probably US by now anyway Good luck
  22. How about this for a mega road trip https://www.facebook.com/adventurebrosUK/
  23. I would take a chance as long as you know for sure what the damage was (being Cat D...I wouldn't have thought too much) and that it has been carried out professionally. Look at the cost saving!
  24. Hi Richard Sounds like a great car...got to be worth keeping as will only ever go up in the future. I would sound it out on eBay to see how much interest and then if not getting the amount you want, withdraw it or put a reserve on it. Cheers, Trevor - Admin
