Hi Phil...welcome to the Forum! I personally would go for the manual, with the sort of mixed driving you do, there wouldn't be much point in an autobox...different if it was all town driving...but thats just my personal preference Let us know how you get on with your decision. Cheers Trevor

I would definitely take it back to the dealer who sold it to you if it was very recently and get them to resolve it...I'm sure it's not going to be too much but pretty bad if you have to foot the bill when you've only just bought it. Easiest way to check is with a temperature gun and point it at various parts of the engine and cooling system as it sounds like a blockage or air lock somewhere in the system. When you have found the cool spot, thats where the blockage is and where its not circulating...may just need bleeding through or back-flushing the system. Another route to consider is to carry out a block test with a special tool that most garages have that measures combustion gas in the cooling system...it uses a fluid that changes colour if there is any combustion gas in the system...instant diagnosis!

Oh dear...not good but at least it's only a few days in so they would almost certainly be obligated to sort it free of charge. Hope it's not left too much of a sour taste at this early stage of Audi ownership?

It doesn't sound too bad as it has service history and if it seems to be looked after quite well, the mileage is not bad for a diesel and they tend to go on for a lot more miles than than, so sounds quite good overall. Hi Gordon....welcome to the Forum! It sounds like there is an exhaust leak, especially as the system has been altered recently....check by getting a friend/wife/neighbour to put a rag over tailpipe(s) to seal the exhaust and you'll be able to hear where it is escaping from. Alternatively, it could be a split in one of the intercooler hoses that's making the noise. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

I wouldn't necessarily replace the bearing if it doesn't need it but I would ensure you follow the torque sequence exactly as some of them (not sure if your model is too early) use a bearing which you have to tighten the hub nut to the first stage with the weight off the wheel then go for the final tighten when its on the ground to allow the bearing to completely centralise and load correctly.

Absolutely superb and still think all the mods are completely relevant and a great basis for any additional ones to build upon what's there. Not sure about the green laces though

Hi Harry....welcome to the Forum! If I were you I would replace the coolant pressure cap on the expansion bottle as this may be the problem if it is not holding pressure. Very cheap to sort and probably the best place to start. Let us know how you get on. Cheers Trevor

I think the EGR delete is a must but not sure the DPF is such a good idea with MOT testing, etc but if driven hard on the right sort of roads it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Was just about to post up a response say that it is spline but replacements seem to be hex. Glad you got them out as they can be a pig to remove, I usually put waterpump pliers on outside of them to help shift them if they don't budge. I'll let you get back to the job in hand! Cheers, Trevor

Welcome to the Forum! Modern engines do consume oil within the running in period which can be some length of time depending on how it is driven. To use some oil is not uncommon as long as it isn't producing clouds of blue smoke from the exhaust. Once the car reaches it's first service then sometimes the oil grade can be changed depending on how the engine has settled in. Easiest thing to do is just keep a regular eye on the level and maybe keep a log to ensure it isn't using excessive amounts Cheers Trevor
