Hi John...welcome to the Forum!
Did you remove the distributor or just the rotor arm and distributor cap?
Definitely sounds like it is times wrong...may be worth comparing it to your old cap to see that the leads are in the correct order.
Let us know how you get on

I would then recommend taking it straight to a specialist or dealer to have a scan carried out to determine what the actual fault is

lol...great story, that's sods law the way things work out sometimes.
A friend of mine has an Aston Vantage convertible but as there are three in his family, he hasn't used the two seater Aston as much as he's intended.
I suggested to him to buy a Bentley GTC which I think would be a great compromise and he'd probably use it more (especially in the winter).
Could I ask to write a review of the Bentley on www.drivn.co.uk as I would like to be able to recommend one to him...unless there are loads of faults, issues, etc.
Let me know how it all pans out for a Euro trip.
Regards, Trevor

Hi Geoff...has it been alright since?

Hi Ken...welcome to the Forum!
You can get a copy of Elsawin from eBay...probably the best one to get

Hi Anton....welcome to the Forum!
There are plenty of products available out there but they're not cheap...I use waterproofing spray which you can get from a camplng shop...not too sure about the long term benefits though

Hi John...welcome to the Forum!
If it is the belt running dry, you can gently pour some water onto it as it is running (careful of finger!) and it the noise disappears I would replace the belt.
If it doesn't chances are it could be the belt tensioner/bearing.

HI Craig....welcome to the Forum!
Has the car been on a long drive where you can give it a blast to clear it through as most particulate problems just result from not clearing it through and running the regeneration process.
Worth giving it a try first

HI Tony...welcome to the Forum!
I think I would take the car back to the dealer and enquire whether it is normal for that model and possibly ask to take another one out to compare it?

Is this what you are looking for?
Different engine size but check with the seller first
-
Yes it would but safer to discharge any pressure first then it will only dribble out as opposed to spray out
-
I would certainly ask the question with your dealer, as usually it comes with a kit
-
Doesn't sound right...have you had it scanned ?

Hi Steve...welcome to the Forum!
Like yourself, I have driven quite a lot of Europe, but never driven Portugal.
I've been to the Algarve and travelled by train across it (the scenery didn't really change at all...quite barren really!) but thought of riding my motorbike down there. Planned to ride down through France, Spain and then into Portugal so no ferries apart from Poole-Cherbourg. You can always travel to Northern Spain by ferry but much nicer driving it, I think.
What convertible are you driving there?

Hi Pete...welcome to the club!
Are you going to modify the Audi?
If so, what mods have you got planned?
-
Hi Ian...welcome to the club!
How you enjoying your Audi so far?

Hi Jonathon...welcome to the club!
Not sure why the heated rear screen should interfere with the radio but the lights may in fact be a faulty bulb.
I would advise checking the bulbs individually as sometimes with CanBus if a bulb has failed the system will then send current to another bulb to illuminate instead (e.g. rear sidelight/brakelight). So if you look carefully at which bulb is illuminating and also if in doubt, remove each bulb in turn and see if there is a loose cap or slightly burnt out.
Let us know how you get on

Hi Stephen..welcome to the club!
Sorry to hear that you have been experiencing problems with your Audi.
I would as a preliminary check see that the tyre profiles and sizes are the same all round as this could cause the rotational speed to be different across the axles.
I hope someone who has experienced this problem can help you further.
Let us know how you get on Regards, Trevor - Admin

Hi Adam...welcome to the club!
I'm sure it will be tough enough to take a remap, but worth asking the tuner to make sure.
Generally, it you're not going racing then a remap should only smooth out the torque and power to enhance the drive with (sometimes) economical benefits.
Let us know how you get on

Hi Chris...welcome to the Forum!
Not too sure of all of the differences between the B6 and B7 but quite possibly you may find some models that have been facelifted that fit your criteria...just a case of looking around for the one that 'floats your boat'.
Hopefully, some members may be able to help you further with that one
