  1. I was hoping someone with AUDI service knowledge could have some insight on this. I have read that Audi can upgrade/update the software to the latest version. But I don’t know if this true or if this use to be the case but only older models. Even if it was £100 if it added some actual new features into navigation upgrades so it was worth buying it. I have the paid for version for about 3 more months and the routes it comes up with are totally bizarre. It cannot do fastest, shortest routes etc. It can’t do preferred route methods and even if you send the route from the app it completely ignores it and takes it back to the standard Motorway or dual carriages it never takes you down country lanes. I keep getting told to add a new theme to my car but this isn’t even an option in this software version. What’s disappointing for a make like Audi, is my Kia and Volvo use to get 6monthly updates and these added new features not just free maps.
  2. Hi all, Had a strange incident this morning. As I drove off I noticed the instrument cluster had gone completely black, like it was off. The only icon was the red warning triangle and indicator signals were working. I thought stopping and turning off the engine would reboot it, but this didn’t work. So I drove to work which is 20miles using google maps as a speed indicator etc. When I got work I left it for 30mins and went back and the digital display was now operating but with every warning light now on. Now this next bit was a stroke of luck, good timing, just 30days before I had taken out a 2yr service and warranty plan which came live today. So I called Leicester Audi who said they couldn’t see the car until end of May, they recommended calling Audi Assistance. They came out in 30mins and diagnosed a new cluster was required. (An independent firm may have been able to do some tricks for ££) He said if you didn’t have a warranty it would be anywhere between £1000-1500 to sort. As soon as this AA guy left, I had phone call from the centre with a pre-booked vehicle an Audi Q7 and a uber taxi to collect it from Derby (leicester had no cars available). I cannot fault the service so far, no money has been taken for anything (as yet) I just hope they don’t try and say this is a wiring issue as that is of course not covered. Anyway I should have it all sorted by Tuesday. PS the Q7 edition I have is pretty stunning.
  3. Must have been a software issue, this morning when the car started the button had returned after the system went through an initialisation process. i did email customer services to see if it was a known issue, but I know their response will be send the vehicle in for diagnostics for a fee. anyway it’s sorted for now.
  4. No issues with the battery stop start is working to well turning the engine off at every light, junction and roundabout.
  5. Just so I’m not going mad, the button was there, also I have now noticed the lane departure button is also missing.
  6. it’s built into the display, no physical button.
  7. But why would the button disappear surely the stop/start function would just not kick in if the battery was low on power.
  8. Hi, when I jumped in my car this evening to drive home, I noticed the climate buttons were not on and it rebooted about 2mins later and I noticed the stop/start function button was now missing? Anyone else seen this. it must have been a software update or something.
  9. My maps currently update via the myconnect feature, but I would like to know if the actual system firmware can be updated? My current software version is 3617 09.03.2021 for a6 2021. I assume it’s probably paid for if it can be?
  10. Hi G, no need to apologise, thanks for your thoughts. The prices came straight from the myAudi app so no actual salesman, but agree warranty’s do always seem to favour the dealer more than the customer. I think i will stick with the independent garage and hope for the best that nothing serious happens over the next few years. I do about 10,500 miles a year.
  11. I have had my A6 now just over 2 weeks, and really impressed with it so far and happy with the purchase. Got a free month with AudiConnect navigation etc, its a shame its £14.99 a month, I think its a bit steep. If it was more like £7.99 I would be more likely to subscribe, as I like using the cars integrated features. My main dilemma and the reason for the post, is what to do with servicing. Audi plan is £36.99 per month for 2 years (you can have one for £35.99 which is 2 services & pollen filter changes, no warranty) 1 x oil service 1 x oil & pollen filter change 2 x mots 2 years road side and warranty How does the above work if its a major service, does the price of the major get reduced with one service knocked off? or just go with an Audi/VW specialist garage I found who seem reasonable. I have 33,500 miles so going to need a Major service at £342 and gear box oil at £258, do these prices below seem fair? 12. Is that the Audi Connect / MyAudi app thingy? I cannot check this out until I have the car, I need the key code to look at the app.
  13. I will check through the service pack on the car and see what's coming up.
  14. Yes it is a Auto, and I have read it will need the oil change, is it roughly £200?
  15. Looks like you've lost a wheel, somewhere on your drive! 😁
