  1. Hi buddy yeah i finally found the issue i after changing everything that could possibly of caused it i started looking more into the kive data and found that it was the sensor before turbo in the exhaust manifold. It was reading 1000 degrees when cold. Put a new one in from Darkside Development and it started back up with no issues. Hope this helps mate. Took me 5 months to fix it.
  2. Once im 100% its fixed im going to do an in depth thread about it and what ive done and what to look for. Ive saw so many people have the same or similar issues so hoping to help them with what ive learnt on this as alot of the symptons i had could result in other mis diagnosed issues.
  3. OBD eleven is what ive been using. Its been to multiple garages and had no joy. Spent a few days going through all the data etc and found that it was reading 1000. Its been a long hard time resolving it but fingers crossed its sorted now. Problem i had was every garage would plug it in see no faults and send me my way. Even very reputable companies couldn't fix it or wasnt interested in spending the time to resolve it. Shame really. I had one so called "Audi Master Technician " tell me it was the head warped, needed all new injectors, cam belt water pump at a cost of 2000! He said these BRD engines are !Removed! and heads fail hence none on the road he had it plugged in for 10 mins and decided this ! Glad i walked away but some unlucky people would pay the price !
  4. Just an update on the issue. It may help anyone in the same situation. Problem resolved after a long 5 months of changing out parts and chasing the fault. It was the temperature sensor before turbo on exhaust manifold. Swapped it out for a darkside development one and fired back to life. Still early days so will test it for a month or two and report back. Again no fault codes showed at all and all.live data seemed ok apart from thatvone sensor started showing 1000degrees when cold. Hope this helps anyone else in need. Thanks for all the advice etc 👍
  5. Anyone in Shropshire area have Vagcom? Or anyone recommend someone who could look at this dam thing ! Im at my wits end ! Checked everything advised and still no joy. If i cant get it running by December it will be scrapped which is a shame as only 130k and i solid motor. Spent 1000's in the last 12months. Every gatage is using generic readers etc ive got obd 11 but om hoping Vag com can find the answers. Im 99% its fuel air mixture. Thanks
  6. Well ive cleaned my old one so will try thay and them get a genuine one if that doesnt work. Ive heard a lot of peoel say the same. I guess electronics is a no go from Euro. Live and learn i guess. If still dubious to it being MAF but its defo with another go. I do think its an air/,fuel mixture problem. Ive git another so called specialist looming at it Monday so will keep you posted
  7. Cheers buddy i did swap the Maf for a euro car parts one but since have been told it may ot be compatible so will clean my lold one up tonight at work and twst it as well as the PCV over the weekend. Tha ks for the help ✌️
  8. Ive changed the egr valve and cleaned the throttle body which is afterwards. The take manifold was full of gunk. Ill check the pcv tomorrow. Is there a way of testing it ? Ive changed the fuel filter but im going to check the fuel pump as well. Im no mechanic but im guessing the ru ning issues could be air/fuel mixture.
  9. Well changed the thermostat and EGT sensor as i found it be glued together ! Happy to report thr DPF regeneration kicked in and seems good but the original issue is still here. Still struggling to start and loss of power u der 1500rpm and struggles getting revs up. Going back to thr drawing board. When i unplug the MAP sensor it starts first go but in limp mode. Ive chnaged the EGR but now thinking about the cooler. Ive topped up coolant a few times maybe 1 litre over a few months. No visible smoke from exhaust though. Only reason i say this is that when i removed the intake manifold it was full.of tar like crud so could this be a sign ? I noticed its build up again after only a few hundred miles since ive cleaned it. The EGR valve which is new was also starting to block up with soot yet this was dry. Any input greatly appreciated.
  10. Well back to square one ! Lasted 1 week! Same symptoms as before, DPF light came on after 1 week and wouldnt clear. Had a specialist look at it and found that thermostat was toast so changed that aswell as exhaust temp sensor as that was reading 1800 degrees. Took it for a drive afterwards and it regened straight away so happy with that but still same issue with lack of power under 1500rpm. Pulling my hair out now and ready to throw the towel in. If anyone knows of someone in the west Midlands who are clued up im all ears!
  11. Brilliant buddy I really appreciate that info 👍 I'll get on that as soon as soon as possible and check it. I've o ly got an OBD eleven reader but should show me the values. When i had the dpf changed they changed the temp sensor as it snapped off and I said to check the others and replace if needed. When it failed they plugged it in again and I asked about FPF pressure sensor and to test it and they said 1% is normal. I took it as truthly as possible as they work on DPF all day every day but now I'll question it. I'm not too clued up on the parameters of the DPF etc so much appreciated. Not going to lie this has drove me insane for 3 months and cost me 1000's so if its just case of a sensor change I'll be annoyed but happy at the same time. 6 garages and so called specialists unable to sort it so fingers crossed this us it. Much appreciated again 🍺
  12. I've changed MAP sensor, MAF , EGR now dpf. Had the dpf pressure sensor tested running 1 psi which was told was fine. What's the EGT sensor related too? I'm currently looking at glowplugs or thermostat possibly 🤔
  13. Any luck with the new cam ? I'm having similar issues on my B7 tdi. Been chasing a fault since July with lack of power under 1500rpm. Found out it was the DPF so had that changed at a great expense. Worked for 1 week and now light is back on and won't regen. Took it up and down the motorway endless times and nothing. Took it back to garage and they checked everything and basically said it needs to regen so carry on driving it as nothing out of the ordinary yet it shouldn't need to regen after a week. All sensors seem In order and no fault codes what so ever ! Something is stopping it do a regen and finding it is a needle in a hay stack ! Audi want mega money just to look at it so if anyone knows anything that could help would be 👍
  14. Thanks for the reply and it's nice to hear a different opinion on the issue. Deep down I've always thought it may be the DPF but the readings were OK from what I've been told by garages etc. I will now be able to monitor the levels at least as I have a measurement to go by. I'm more disappointed in the fact that 5 garages which 1 of them was Audi and 2 specialists that they never even considered the DPF. I just hope other Audi owners will see this and it will help them to find a cure. I'm currently 1250 deep resolving this. The DPF was 270 and labour 355 with new sensor. Can be done on the drive but never had to option to drop the sub frame. I hope this helps people have the confidence to tackle jobs themselves. Alot of Garage's now im my eyes are "fitters" not mechanics or engineers. To get refused work due to rusty bolts on a DPF is a give away that your in the wrong place ! Will keep everyone updated but as of now running better than ever !
