  1. Welcome along. Can't say I have, so consider this a free bump to hopefully get the attention of those far more knowledgeable than myself :)
  2. Part of my reason for choosing Audi this time round was desirability. Much of my background opinion was based on experience when I was younger. My dad (God rest him), was a dealer for VAG back in the day and his garage dealt with VW and Audi. I have many fond memories of various Audi Quattro, S2, 80, 100 etc from my younger years, and always enjoyed them. Specific reasons for choosing my current car? Comfort (this is a very comfortable car) Looks (it's a cab, what's not to like) Power (3.0, 217bhp - cannot complain!) So far, so good :) I suspect I will stick with the marque for some time yet.
  3. OK, so she's back. Code showed lambda probe apparently, either way, it's no longer present and drives fine. They have said that they will honour any problems and deal with all the warranty side of things their side so happy days there :)
  4. To be fair, I phoned the garage and they said to bring it down and they'd sort it out. It has warranty so should definitely be covered...if not I will fight it with the warranty company. As for bitter taste, not really. It is a second hand car, I fully expect them to not be perfect and come with issues. My last car (Honda Prelude) I had four days and it completely failed (bad earth caused distributor to fail, on top of that, the car lost all its ECU codes). Here's hoping this is a quicker fix :D I did wonder if it is fuel related. I've always used super unleaded (more specifically Tesco Momentum 99RON) as I've always found my cars run better on it. If it does come back fuel related, I'll have to find a different fuel station with super. Near me there is only Esso (3 garages within a mile) and they all artificially keep their prices higher. Might have to find a Shell for some V-Power :)
  5. Day 3 of Audi ownership and it's gone and Vorsprung an emissions light! She's back at the garage awaiting diagnostics in the morning. Thankfully it came with warranty, it had better be done under it or I shall be one unhappy person :)
  6. Polish you don't layer, it's your LSP's you layer :) Polish in its nature is abrasive, and as such won't layer. Megs #16 as a paste wax will layer to some degree, and always benefits from a double coat minimum (mainly to ensure you've not missed any bits). That said, there seems to be a love of all things German in that picture :D The what looks like an SLK reflection looks good in the door of the A3!
  7. To be fair. #16 is a much underrated product :) This shows why, it's good stuff.
  8. Welcome from another newbie!
  9. Can't knock those results buddy :)
  10. Thanks Trevor :) It's like waiting for Christmas at the moment, knowing it's coming but not able to enjoy it yet. The weather is currently sunny, how long for however is another matter :D
  11. If you're looking for a quick fix in terms of filler type products, you'd be looking at glazing, then protecting with a wax of sorts :) Filler heavy glazes (such as AD 'Brilliance') make light work of filling swirls. If you want quick and easy protection, Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer spray is right up your alley. Spray on, buff in, job done. It protects very well for what is essentially a quick detailer spray, and you absolutely cannot argue with the gloss it gives (on my old Prelude):
  12. Under the correct circumstances, and if performed correctly, waterless washing is quite safe. Granted it is not ideal, but in situations where water use is either restricted or you simply don't have any, it's better than nothing :) The best tips I can give for waterless washing is to not skimp when applying the product, and use the best quality, deepest pile microfibre towels you can. Spray the product, allow it to soak properly into what is hopefully minimal dirt, then with a rolling away action, wipe the dirt away.
  13. Morning all! I'm joining up as I purchased my first Audi yesterday from a local garage. It's a 2005 A4 Cab, with the 3.0L V6 and a manual box. I'll be grabbing plenty of photos when I pick it up (it's currently awaiting a service and whatnot as part of the sale package). It's a bit lovely I must say. I've attached a shot that the dealer took for a bit of a heads up :) A bit about me, I'm 34, I work in IT, I love detailing, traditional wet shaving, Fender Stratocasters, my family, dogs, good beer and photography. Thanks guys, speak soon! Nick
