  1. Hi, I used to own an a3 3.2 Quattro. I now own an a4 2.0 front wheel drive and really wish I'd have looked for a Quattro now. The a3 was great when we got snow, all my neighbours was struggling to get out of the street yet we had no bother getting out. Go for Quattro but keep it regularly serviced.
  2. Hi Trevor, don't know how other bikes are with auto boxes having never riden an auto bike before but the Honda is so easy. I was a bit sceptical as I was when I first bought an Audi with the DSG gearbox (a3 3.2) but the Honda works exactly the same. It does feel strange at first and the odd time I still go for the clutch and my left foot wants to go for the gears. The Honda feels slightly under revved, the engine feels labouring slightly and that the revs need to be bit higher but just like my Audi, you can put it in s (sport) mode which brings the revs higher (above 2k) or you can put it in manual mode and change gear with little levers on the handlebar, just like paddle shift on an audi. I have an a4 cab but unfortunately these don't have a DSG which is a shame but I'm on my second DSG, the first with my a3 3.2 and now with my a1. No doubt you can tell now that I'm a massive fan of the DSG gearboxes! 😊
  3. Hi, just recently took the plunge and got back into biking with a Honda NC750S. Went for a test ride and fell in love, it's the model with the auto box that works just like the DSG in Audi's, and if you've never driven (or ridden) a car or bike and are thinking of it, DO IT they're brilliant (the gearboxes that is) Love riding my bike, even in the cold weather.
  4. Thanks Trevor, no point in fighting, the wife always wins 😊 but I do love driving the a1 I'm a big fan of the DSG gearbox.
  5. Hi, just joined forum so apologies for late answer. If you haven't already bought one, I have owned an a4 cab auto for 4 years and love it. Some early models had problems with auto boxes but Audi sorted it by the later models. You're right about the diesels, I was put off buying one so bought a 2.0 petrol, these are much better and stronger than the 1.8. The Multitronic is fine if you keep it serviced. It doesn't have gears like the DSG gearboxes, it is just one gear, if you put it in manual mode or use the paddles, all it does is move to rev (engine revs) range higher. My son calls them a pretend gearbox! Fantastic cars though.
  6. Hi, don't know of any Audi's that use vinyl, I'm sure they're all fabric. As for cleaning just use soapy water. Use water proofing kits like auto glym every 4 -6 months, you can see the water run off afterwards. Never use pressure washers!
  7. Hi, I'm Mike and have just joined audi owners club. My wife Sylvia has an a1 1.4 (185bhp) unfortunately in garage getting repaired for the second time due to accident (nothing sserious) having owned this for only 4 months and we love it to bits. We also have an a4 cab and have owned this for about 4 years. Can't see us ever leaving the Audi brand
