Corrosion warrenty
Yep the car has had some paint on the front bumper and bonnet which looks like it was probably stone chip repair. But as this wasn't done by Audi who knows what coatings have been applied to the car at the same time so I'm sorry sir but the warrenty won't be applicable in this instance. 😂 Was worth a try and the guy was pleasant and offered me a go in a SQ7 when I have more time. So when the kids are back at school I'll take the wife over and him what it can do 👍🏻

Corrosion warrenty
Hi I've notice a couple of imperfections on my Q7's bodywork most noticeable is some small rust bubbling on the drivers side rear door handle and was going to get them sorted by a garage who told me that audi's have a 12 year corrosion warrenty and to ring them to get it inspected. Has anybody tried to get anything like this sorted by them or am I just wasting my time as they will just fob me off with excuses that I can't argue with?

Sat nav
Finally got around to sorting it out. Borrowed a mates borascope to check the wiring and if the drainage for the rear sunroof was leaking onto the connectors. All fine so bought a gps antenna with the correct connection off eBay for £3.50 and tested it. Now works fine. Slackened off the rear trim panel and fished the wire down so the small square antenna sticks to the rear window. Job done

audi q7
My Q7 was intermittently taking a while to start (10 seconds then a puff of white smoke when started) diagnostics showed the number six glow plug was the problem. Only £17 from euro parts so put a full set in and has been fine since. Was told that because it didn't fire straight away that unburnt fuel was getting to the lambda sensor and so the ecu was backing the fuel off hence why it would just turn over and over.

Sat Nav update MMI
I bought a disc and had the same problem. It's locked at the factory and have been told that when they arrive at the dealer they should unlock it there but not all did. You need vagcom /vcds to unlock. It's very simple and takes 5 minutes to do as it just involves changing a 0 to a 1 or vice versa. I'd try ringing your local Audi dealer and tell them that you have spoken to Audi U.K. Who have told you that it should of been unlocked when new and said to ring your Audi dealer and ask them to do it. If they want to charge you then any local independent with vcds can do it for less

Heated seat 💺
Yeah checked wiring etc. Passenger one works fine, all fuses fine. Does the seat 💺 need to come out or can it be done in the car. I have put dvds in the headrests and don't fancy removing to and the wiring if I don't have too. Cheers

Heated seat 💺
Hi has anyone ever replaced the heated seat element a leather drivers seat. Does it involve cutting the stitching or is it a case of dismantling the seat. Cheers

Sat nav
Don't have a dash cam but believe it's not picking satellites up. Going to check the connections but have looked at the antena on eBay and the wires are very short so don't go to the drive directly. I have removed the interior light underneath the fin and followed the cables but the connections are under the head liner so need to drop it to investigate further. My car has a panaramic sunroof and have been told the drain pipes can leak so will check with a borascope for signs of water. I put a new map disc in and updated the software when I got the car but I'm unsure how they managed to get the nav to know where it was when I collected it from them. I want to put it back on them to sort but the quality of some of the work they have done to it isn't the best and I don't want a "bodge" fix.

Sat nav
Had my car back to the garage I bought it from to sort the sat nav out under warranty. They had the car for a few weeks to sort a few other things at the same time. Picked the car up Tuesday and they say have replaced a part that cost £1100 and the sat nav works fine now. Drove home and noticed the sat nav screen showed me driving in the opposite direction and now that I'm home shows my current position as being 60 miles away from where I am. Does anybody know if they could of just connected some plugs in wrong or something simple like that. I can take it back to them but it's not local to me and can't take it to them for 3 weeks. My mates with Q7's don't know as they have never had a problem with their sat nav and can't get a wiring diagram for it anywhere

air suspension
What does vcds - options - test say. You can ring Rosstec for support who will talk you through some things to see why it's not talking but to be honest I'd probably ring Audi and pay £80 or something to get them to do it on there computer if it's gone on this long. I've only seen something like the problem your having when my mate bought a Mickey Mouse lead from eBay when his original one broke

Is it a genuine cable you are using to program. If you do vcds options test what does it say.

Hi what are the levels for all four channels and what are the stored values for all four channels? I think if the stored value for example is 495 and the actual value is 410 then the ecu won't allow such a dramatic change and so you will need to set it to within 20 of the stored value until you can get to where it is.

air suspension
Is it Left Hand Drive? Is just one corner down or both on that side. What is the value you are trying to enter? Is the mmi greyed out on the suspension settings? What parts have you changed on the car to get to this stage?

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/levelcontrol.html This might help 👍🏻

air suspension
Channel 4 is the rear right I think and 5 is just to confirm the values so probably will say error if there isn't any value in 4. Have you entered anything for 1,2,3? What value are you entering in channel 4. Is any of the suspension lower than the rest. I think the test conditions are that the engine has to be running and all the doors are closed

Sounds like a valve stuck open. If the bag had such a big leak that it goes down straight away when the pump stops then I doubt it would lift it up in the first place. The over temp fault is just because the pump keeps kicking in. Unless it's really noisy it should be fine. There is a valve block just behind the pump that might be stuck but check the individual valve on the strut first with soapy water to see where the air is escaping. What have you changed to get vagcom to say that. Have you changed the bag and now it's stuck down on the corner and won't raise the car at all? If so jack the car up on that wheel to take some weight off and see if it will raise it up.

Air suspension
I can't open it either for some reason. It's just a video from my iphone showing the bubbles coming from the top of the strut. Have you tried putting soapy water on to see where the leak is

Air suspension
Hi Andy it wasn't that hard really but just a little time consuming. It took a couple of hours. Got a squeezey bottle with a little washing up liquid and water in and then raised the suspension and squirted it onto the bag and cradle to see where the leak was. It was right at the top of the suspension cradle so wasn't the bag that was leaking. After removing the suspension strut the top cradle is held on with 3 13mm bolts. The seal is under that and is really easy to see and remove. I put a little sealer on the new one just to make sure it sealed properly. To remove the bag in case that's what is faulty on yours it looked like a nut in the centre under the cradle would need taking off to allow it to slid off. It was all fairly straight forward and obvious what needed taking off I wouldn't be worried about carrying it out as long as you have a good selection of tools. I used my mates garage and his air tools. I also replaced the pump on mine which was on its way out which was under the car on the drivers side. All the pipes for each corner of the car run from there so if you can't see any bubbles from your suspension have a look there as if it can leak on that connection too and have the same result.

Sat Nav and phone volume issues
Might sound silly but when you get in the car does it remember your phone and connect automatically or do you have to pair it manually with the PIN number. I had a problem with mine in that it wouldn't store any of the settings for the handsfree after I turned the ignition off they just reverted back to what somebody had set them too years ago. I upgraded the software to 5570 using the discs but it made no difference. I was told it was a fault on the Bluetooth module and that it needed replacing so I just lived with pairing it everytime I got in. Mine was a 2006

Need help with a few things 2006 3.0TDI Q7
My mate had a problem with his tailgate that sounds similar to what yours is doing. His turned out to be a fault on the left hand rear indicator holder or wire that was causing resistance and making the left tailgate sensor behave funny so kept closing then opening about 12 inches. He can't really remember as it was Audi that sorted it for him and it was a while ago. So the light fault could be related. I am talking about an electric tailgate so hope you are too

Sat nav
I've enabled the hidden green menu on the mmi and checked the nav section which says it's not receiving any satellites so believe it's going to be something to do with the shark fin antenna but have no idea where it plugs in or how to check it other than making sure it's plugged in

Sat nav
my sat nav has a white screen but all the key on the right had side. I purchased another disc thinking that it couldn't read the map information. When putting the new disc in the mmi says updating and has the % counting up then comes back on with the white screen. Having fiddled around in the manual position option it appears that my sat nav thinks I'm in Africa or somewhere similar so moving the position towards Europe shows my map. It will let you zoom in etc and has all the street names but when you press return it goes white again. Is there a way to tell it where you are to begin with? Could this be the gps antenna isn't working? If so does anybody know where it plugs in or if there is a module for it. The disc wasn't in when I purchased the vehicle as the dealer says they take them out and put them with the service books to stop them being stolen. Vagcom shows nothing related to the sat nav faulty. Cheers dave

2006 Q7 3.0TDI fuel economy?
Both of my Q7's averaged between 14-18 mpg driving around where I live which is very hilly but on the motorway will average 30+. The best way to check the real mpg is to fill the car up drive 50 or 60 miles driving how you normally would then fill the car back up and work out what it's doing
