  1. Thanks Gareth. I guess i was just trying to establish from some other Audi Multi-tronic gearbox users if this was something that they had experienced as well and therefore something of a 'known issue' with these cars, or whether it was a specific issue with my car. If its a known issue then i'd probably be more inclined to live with it, but if it was something that had not presented itself to other Multi-tronic owners then i'd probably be more likely to seek out professional advice meaning hassle and ££. Cheers
  2. Hi John, Thanks for the information, hower its the multitronic, not the s-tronic gearbox, so i'm not sure if that makes any difference...
  3. Hi, It was bought about 3 weeks ago from a independent dealer so i'm keen to understand if this is something that other owners have experienced and is a known issue with the car, or whether my car specifically has a problem. The car has a 6 month warranty so any repairs could/should be covered. Bristol isn't too far away, but just keen to establish if this is 'normal'. The rest of the time the gearbox is smooth as butter, its just in this one scenario of uphill starts.
  4. Hi, Thanks. According to the service book it has had 2 gearbox oil changes...The last one being earlier this year on about 85k miles
  5. Apologies for missing the key detail, it's a Multi-tronic gearbox...Service book says that the oil change in the gearbox was done earlier this year.
  6. Hi, I've recently purchased a 2012 3.0TDI Avant S-Line with about 90k miles and FSH. The car is lovely but seems to have one issue which is a judder when you try and pull away uphill. If you are stationary with the handbrake on and you go to accelerate there is a judder as if there is no gear selected, then after a few seconds it feels as if the gear is selected quite aggressively and then the car pulls away. It only happens on uphill starts. It was particularly prominent last week when i was towing a caravan out of a caravan site. There was a slight uphill slope with speed bumps and as i slowed down to a stop over one of the speedhumps the juddering started and the car/caravan actually started rolling backwards before it again dropped into gear. A bit alarming. Looking at the service book there is a tick against the gearbox oil change about 5000 miles/6 months ago so it looks like it's got relatively new oil in it. Has anyone else had this, and is there a solution/fix or technique to avoid it? Cheers Tim
  7. Having some issues with the heating in my 2006 A6 Allroad. The basic issue is that the heating doesn't work very well. When its cold i get no hot air coming out of the windscreen vents which makes it hard to clear the windscreen. I also only get warm air coming out of the some, but not all of the other vents so the car take a long time to heat up and, to be honest, is not the most pleasant place tobe on a cold morning. Thank god for the heated seats!. I have changed the heating pump (under the cover in the engine bay) but this hasn't made any difference. Any ideas anyone?
  8. Hi, If you look in the spare wheel bay you'll see a sticker that has a whole load of codes written on it including the paint code VIN number etc. One of those codes is the brake pad code. It will be either 1LG or 1ZL. That will tell you which set to get. The difference depends on the brake disc diameter 321mm or 347mm.
  9. Hi All, I have an Allroad 3.0TDI 2006 model and i'm having a few issues with the Suspension. The offisde front airspring appears to have a leak. The suspension warning lights have been flashing (both) and i can't raise the suspension. When i jack up the front wheel and activate the suspension into "Lift" mode, the suspension does work but as soon as you put weight back on the wheel it sinks again, therefore i'm assuming its and leaky spring. My main question is how hard are they to change? I recently replaced the front pads and discs on the car and have a decent toolkit so i'm wondering about doing the job myself. Does anyone have experience of this and can tell me if its a DIY job? Thx Hoggy
  10. Hi All, I have a 2006 Allroad and yesterday there was an enormous bang from the offside rear and the suspension collapsed. I'm assuming one of the rear sus airbags popped. anyone have another diagnosis? Has this happened to anyone else? Hoggy1972
  11. I just did my fronts this week. If you look on the chassis label either in the boot by the spare wheel, or in the handbook you'll see a 3 digit code, 1ZL or 1LG. If it says 1ZL then they are 347mm, if 1LG then 321mm. Hope that helps.
  12. Hi, I have a 2006 Allroad 3.0 and i've just had an MOT failure on 'Parking Brake: Efficiency below requirements'. The car has recently (Jan '17) had a new set of pads and discs on the rear. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?. As its an electronic parking brake, its not adjustable, its either ON or OFF, so i'm a bit stumped as to what the problem might be. Any help greatly received Tim
  13. Hi, I'm new to this forum so don't shoot if this topic has been discussed before, but a quick search didn't show anything. I have a heater problem on my 2006 A6 Allroad. Basically all the blower functions work as they should, however it seems that the they don't blow out at the temp indicated. Now the weather has got really cold the Air con is on "Hi" temp but is shoving out only cold air. There is sometimes also an issue where the passenger side is blowing hot and the drivers side is blowing cold air. Its making the car a 'not very nice' place to be at the moment. I have read things about faulty Heating control units and i've sourced one on ebay for about £75, but is is just a case of swapping the units over or is it more involved that that. Any advice gratefully received.
