Allroad Air Suspension Issues

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have an Allroad 3.0TDI 2006 model and i'm having a few issues with the Suspension. The offisde front airspring appears to have a leak. The suspension warning lights have been flashing (both) and i can't raise the suspension. When i jack up the front wheel and activate the suspension into "Lift" mode, the suspension does work but as soon as you put weight back on the wheel it sinks again, therefore i'm assuming its and leaky spring.

My main question is how hard are they to change? I recently replaced the front pads and discs on the car and have a decent toolkit so i'm wondering about doing the job myself.

Does anyone have experience of this and can tell me if its a DIY job?

Thx

Hoggy

Have your car scanned using vcds first. It may show what needs fixing/replacing

Hi Tim,

it sounds like the sphere needs replacing. My dad had a similar issue on his merc e class. The sphere probably has a hole in it and is leaking.

Uou probably could change it yourself but I'm unsure if the suspension needs recalibratimg afterwards.

Cheers

steve
