Good idea on the rolling road, hadn't thought of that.
-
I'm definitely with Steve on this, get it scanned for faults first, could be something simple and if nothing shows up at least you know. After that if it still feels wrong get it dyno tested on a rolling road and found out if the torque and BHP figures are badly out or if they're sort of in the ballpark for what Audi are claiming.

Search for coolant hose, part no. 8E2819371AD

Just from experience I needed a rear axle for my A6 last year, all the ones from breakers in this country were nearly as bad as mine, but I found a brand new remanufactured one from Poland on Ebay. The price was fair, quality was excellent, and apart from HMRC wanting their pound of flesh at this end delivery was smooth and hassle free. Check their reviews mate and use PayPal for your own protection, definitely preferable to scrapping the car. -

I've just noticed, one the clubs current advertiser's does custom hoses! Go to the bottom of the website to see the ad/link. You should get a discount -
You're welcome, that I'm not so sure. You might find the issue won't be getting it down but getting it back up and sealing properly

What do I need when sourcing new headlight unit
daveyboy1967 replied to Admprb's topic in Audi A3 (8V) Forum
To be honest I would avoid AliExpress for an important (and probably still quite expensive) part like that. I play guitar and some of the fake branded instruments I've seen people pay a few hundred quid for from that site have been truly shocking quality and not fit for purpose, so I can only assume you would be taking the same sort of risk with automotive parts. Now, if a guitar turns out to be an unplayable piece of junk that falls apart after a few months you end up looking stupid and out of pocket, if it's an important piece of equipment on your car the result could be far more serious, costly, and could land you in court even. You are FAR better off using EBay if you don't want to pay dealership prices in my opinion. -

It is possible, but the air quality sensor was short to ground and required replacement. I'll post on this topic at a later date if it manifests again along with anything else that ends up being worked/replaced. The garage I spoke to said that a car they had in had all manner of issues due to an air quality sensor failure. Affected rear camera and all sorts. Personally I don't like faults you can't turn on/off as there is still the uncertainty. Unfortunately I'm not in that position so have to live it. I've completed over 500 miles since so feels promising.

Is it possible something you did has secured a poor electrical connection caused by corrosion/weak spring/unfastened clip etc?

Thanks for this, but would this still be possible if one of the rear windows was up fully as does not operate cheers

So it seems that replacing the air quality sensor has resolved the issue. Don't ask me why but it is now sorted.

Hi! I just picked up a 2022 e-tron 55 yesterday. I’m coming from a VW Passat and I live in cold Sweden. As such I frequently start the parking heater beforehand so it’s nice and cosy. In order to do the same thing with the e-tron, do I need the app myAudi? I bought the car used from an Audi dealer but I didn’t get the Vehicle code so I can’t register the car in the app. After some googling it seems like they are charging for a new vehicle code? Does that include the Audi app cost or do you need to pay for that as well? And I’m guessing this app is needed if I want to be able to check how much battery is left etc? Thanks in advance

Many thanks for your rapid response. I had seen those eBay items, both in Latvia. However, the owner of a local Audi/VW specialist garage warned me off them as he knows several customers who ordered in Latvia, who never received the parts and lost their money. Bespoke manufacturing might be my only option but probably very expensive. However, I am loathe to scrap a perfectly good car. Another possible issue is how long the garage is prepared to keep it while I am searching. -

The part number should be on the back of the headlight. It should look similar to this "8V0941773C" -

Sorry to hear about this. I've found two on eBay but no picture on either ad. https://ebay.us/m/z4olYt https://ebay.us/m/SfVhSA https://www.oemvwshop.com/8e2819371ad-coolant-hose-p1124411/ The other option is to take the pipe and ask a hose specialist to make a replica. -

I have an A4 3.0TDI Quattro (VIN: WAUZZZ8E25A456940) acquired new in February 2005. It’s a superb car, still in fantastic condition (at 184000 miles) and in perfect working order other than the following problem. A coolant hose at the rear of the engine, part no. 8E2819371AD, has split and the car cannot now be driven. It’s at a local garage where a pressure test was conducted to seek a minor leak. I presume that the pressure caused the hose to rupture. The part was declared obsolete only last month (!) by TPS (official VAG parts supplier). My garage can’t spend any more time searching and has passed the problem to me. On Thursday I ordered the part from LLL Parts, whose website initially showed it in stock but yesterday I got an email, saying only that it isn’t available; no indication if they can get one; no response to my email and I can’t reach them by phone as their automated answering system keeps cutting me off. I am now having enormous difficulty finding the part on the Internet, other than from a few expensive, probably dodgy Eastern European sellers on eBay, which I am not willing to risk. If the part can't be found, it seems that I would have to have the car scrapped, which is crazy, given how good it is, and would be emotionally difficult for me. Can anyone please help?

Good morning Would someone know if you can use your convertible roof manually if it does not work electronically due to a rear window not working. Planning to get it to the garage soon but in the meantime with the weather nice it would be great to still use but unsure if 1 It would open without the rear window dropping 2 More importantly would it close again without the rear window dropping
