Thanks for the quick response! I was suspecting a worn rubber bush or but always worry it might be more (praying its not!). There's no leaking fluid anyway but I will update as soon as I get it looked at.

CKAJCA started following Cracked headlight
-
The very first week I had my new 35TFSI a stone from a lorry hit my headlight and cracked it. I was gutted. I see it is possible to replace just the glass (plastic). Has anyone done this? Can anyone tell me how to remove the headlight? Is it an easy job? Thanks.

It's likely to be a worn rubber bush in one of the suspension or steering links.

Air Con not working properly in the front vents
cliffcoggin replied to M Kelly's topic in New Members Introductions
Possibly one or more of the flaps in the ducts are not working. It's a common problem that the garage should be able to diagnose. -

Hi all, Wondering if you can help me diagnose the sound I am hearing in the video attached. Usually only hearing this when I get into my car or when I put a little pressure on it. I've checked all other sides and no similar noise. It will be going in for a service soon but wanted to see if anyone had any idea beforehand. Thanks! VID-20250529-WA0011_1.mp4

My 2014 A6 C7 saloon has a problem with air con, would welcome any ideas as to what it could be please? Basically, with the climate set to lowest setting on both sides, only the drivers side gets cold and to the required temperature. The passenger side is like a normal temperature (not hot or cold). Works ok when you want heat both sides, the problem is only when you want cold, passenger side doesn't get down to temp. Audi advice: "probably needs a re-gas" but i'm pretty sure it's not that. Any ideas welcome please?

The note from the Audi garage: Inspection Notes: Confirmed customers complaint of charging flap issue, checked and found actuator to be defective causing issue to occur, will require high voltage charging flap unit with actuator F496 replacing and re-checking (£390 !!!!) Hi i had the same issue - did you ever get it sorted? -
Cold air blowing at feet but warm at all other vents
Rodney79 replied to Rodney79's topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
I thought that but wouldn't that result in cold air coming from all the vents? -

A wise choice.

Quick update: The car has been dropped off at the Audi garage to resolve this issue, the air-con button issue along with a free update to the braking system. They mentioned it’s a well-known issue reported by Audi HQ. Please check your car and contact your Audi garage asap!

CCC started following New A3 questions
-
Morning all. New to the Audi clan as of Friday last week. A3 Sportback TDi Black Edition. Up to now, mostly satisfied. A few niggles, but nothing worth worrying about except Sonos system. Is it me, or is it a disappointment? I find it totally lacking clarity and depth of bass! Keep fiddling with it but not much improvement. Considering a remap at some point in near future. Is it possible ? Any recommendations? many thank in anticipation 😜

New MAF sensor installed. Both fault codes cleared. Only problem will be how long the MAF sensor lasts this time. If anyone has any thoughts on where to fo with loom investigation that'd be appreciated.

Thanks Colin, The handbook should give you choice which was available, but will not tell you what the car was fitted with at build. Just wondering why you want to know, and what the car is fitted with now. Regards, Gareth.

Or just buy 5litres Quantum Longlife 3 which is VAG’s own brand. I never extend oil changes out to c18k or 18 months, but change it annually if you do an average mileage. Quantum is available from a number of reputable EBay sellers. 5 litres will allow you to have enough ‘top up’ oil for hopefully a couple of years. Regards, Gareth.

Hi Magnet, I’ve now told them I’m not going ahead with the deal, due to the V5 not been correct, hopefully I’ll get my deposit back 🤔 so I’m now on the look out for a A1 born in the UK 👌
-
Many thanks for coming back on this Andy. So I guess you are ready to take a chance on the potential oil burning issue, which could cost you well in excess of £220/a -? Regards, Gareth.
-
Thanks for the quick response - i’ll check that out. Much appreciated. 😀

Suspect it’s 5W30 LL. You can cross check on Castrol’s site basically any oil that’s VW 504.00 / VW 507.00 compatible. The LL is long life, but change at the next scheduled interval.

Hello - my first query here. I have an A6 2.0 TDI 40 c8 (2019) - had the car about 7 months - the top up oil warning has just come on - it still has about 2000 miles until the next scheduled oil change. i want to make sure I top up with 1L of the correct grade of oil - can’t find any clear information in manual or engine bay. A Quick Look online suggests 5W-30, but I suspect I need a specific VW-Audi variant. Can anyone advise? thanks
