JCAudiUser started following 45 vs 50 TDI (2022 reg)

These two models offered in the UK differ by engine torque & horsepower. If I want to “update” a 45 TDI to a 50 TDI, then is it mostly just a Stage 1 remap?

Hello Paul, Work on the principle that if you have checked all alternatives without solution, then you have to suspect the replaced component. In decades gone by, an unthinkable possibility. Regrettably now only too common a possibility. Kind regards, Gareth.
-
That sounds good logic Garry. Good luck with finding it an appreciative home. Regards, Gareth.

Welcome Mahmood. Would anyone be able to help with a recommendation for Mahmood? Regards, Gareth.
-
Gareth, I had it at £9,250 on Piston heads because Classic car values them between 8-12k. I will consider offers only once viewed, it is in very good condition although I would hesitate to say concourse.

Yes , Price?

Gareth, 2 years, any other questions?

If you suspect air bags, spray them with soapy water and watch for bubbles.

Hi everyone I guess this won’t be the first request for advice on this topic. I’ve read through a few already but I’d really like to get some thoughts please. I have 2012 C7 all road. Which I love, by the way. Best car by a long shot. I’m new to this forum. Apologies if I haven’t read something I should have done before posting. i have an issue where the o/s rear corner sags overnight. It doesn’t drop on the all road height setting but it does on the auto and dynamic settings. i have heard that this indicates a pinhole leak in the bag where it folds. As opposed to a leak at the valve body which would result in it dropping on all settings. I can understand the logic. the thing is I had that corner replaced by Lookers Audi 18 months ago. An independent (Vasstech) agreed it was most likely the bag. Audi don’t want to touch it. At first they waived the diagnostic as a GOGW. After questioning that they’ve had the car several days and seem to want to look at the level sensors and valve body. Anything but the part they’ve replaced that’s under warranty. Am I wrong to conclude that the strut is most likely the problem? Thanks for any comments or advice in advance.

Hi, So, I've had an Audi S3 2013 for two to three months now, and its been fun, been a few issues here and there, which has been fairly cheap fixes, but today I was driving, and I put it into sport mode, and then some white smoke came out. some extra information, i had a refurbished turbo added in and also had a mobile mechanic come out and diagnose the issues with stuff to do with coolant pump shut off valve? and pump blocked? i had another mechanic say it could be pcv valves or issues with seals. (this is all i have and can remember sorry if it is not sufficient) but essentially i just want a clean and clear diagnosis from someone who knows what is going on So, if anyone knows of any VAG specialists in and around South East London that would be great or any other advice you think I would benefit from that they could give me, that would be really appreciated.

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?

Hi All BSG replaced today without question by Audi on my 2000 52,000 mile SQ8tdi. Very efficient process (3 days). Should be eligible for at least one more (25k miles Pa) before the 7 year limit. Always have the warranty up to date or you’ll be in for a £5k shock🤓 -

Ya I’m thinking the same, thx for your advice, much appreciated.
-
Alan. There is a potential to damage tyres or bodywork if you get this wrong. I suggest you get professional advice on the matter before changing anything.
-
That seems to confirm it is the new camshaft causing the problem, though I don't understand how or why.
-
I've done quite a bit of research to get to the bottom of this and I've seen it mentioned in several places that the build quality of some parts was not as good during the pandemic and improved significantly in 2023. Interestingly the part I removed was manufactured in October 2020 (pandemic) and the new part end of 2023 so there could be some truth to that.

I’m new to Wheel spacers so looking for some advice. I have 19” Audi OEM Alloy Wheels - 10 spoke 8.5”x 19” ET43 fitted to my 2014 A6 C7 Allroad and thinking about fitting spacers front and rear. From the research I’ve done so far I’m thinking 15mm front and 20mm rear. The recommendation I’ve had is to go with hubcentric spacers. My question is on the wheel studs, I’m fairly sure that I would need to change existing to longer ones - existing + spacer width? From experience does anyone have a recommendation on spacer brand, size and stud length? Appreciate any advice, cheers.

A6 Allroad BiTdi 2014 with 178k miles....am I mad?
Aspen5121 replied to James Parsons's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Great cars, the key is servicing with the recommended oil. If that’s done you shouldn’t have any major issues like timing chain. My A6 C7 Allroad 245hp is on 185,000 miles with no major issues. I bought it at 165k with full service history including gearbox service. I change the oil at +/- 5000 miles. If it doesn’t have gearbox service record then get it done immediately. -
Six years - and no, it didn't... 🤔
-
Wondering if you bought the car? I have the 2014 A6 C7 Allroad 245hp. Currently on 185,000miles. It’s the best car I’ve owned. Service it regularly, including transmission at 60k, using the recommended oil and you shouldn’t have any problems. I’ve had very few issues with mine apart from the usual wear and tear items like wheel bearings, CV joints. Replaced both rear airbags, £150 ea on eBay, no major issues. I bought mine 3yrs ago with full Audi service history and have it serviced every +/- 5000 miles. Passes MOT each year with no issues. I would definitely buy a newer one however it’s hard for me to justify as only use it 6 months per year.
-
How long did you own the car before changing the camshaft, and did the DPF block in that time?
-
OK - I've escalated the situation. New gen Audi cam ordered (£780) - I'll have it fitted over the winter. It will pay for itself, if I'm having to pay for DPF regens frequently. I love this car, but it does strain that relationship at times... 😂🤣😂
-
Yep - works fine, and the tank is nearly full. Thanks for the tip, though... 🙂
