  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks for coming back on this Mike. It may well be worth having a search on here about issues with panoramic sunroofs. Can leak under under ‘normal’ use, and it would be reasonable to expect a higher potential for body flexing if using it for towing. Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. No both discs hot to touch, so don't think that's the problem , when i took off the wheel and rolled the wheel along flat surface you could see the wheel wobble as it rolled , but the question is what caused the tire to lose shape that much , tie rod ? Or just a poor quality tire ? I notice there is a slight clicking when turning while driving , which i thought was a cv joint that is due to be changed , so might not be the cv after.
  4. Wasn't aware of that with original tyres, thank you.
  5. Thanks A, So we beg to differ on the anticipated rate of tread wear . Note:- it is usual for originally fitted tyres to last longer than subsequent sets of the same brand, but.. In terms of recommendations for future sets, I think the forum has given you some advice to help you select a brand for your next set. Having said that, could you now do us a kindness and amend your profile to at least include your full first name? Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. Thanks for the update. The spare wheel has solved the noise, but can not explain the hot disc. Is the opposite side just as hot?
  7. Today
  8. Looks like you need an electrician.
  9. Good morning 🙂 Hopefully someone could offer some help regarding my issue regarding the brake wear indicator warning light . It started last year intermittent then on at all times . I got the front pads and sensor changed light went off at least for a while to then return a few months later. At this point I went back and bit the bullet to get the rear pads changed to no avail my mechanic suspects a break in the cable . He is an old school mechanic so freely admitted wiring isn't his strong point . My father in law is pretty decent and we had a go checking what we could . Has anyone had this issue before and if so what did you find . Thanks in advance Jamie
  10. Believe it or not I actually haven’t thought of that, I’ve tried almost everything else but that. Thanks for the input

  12. I have called audi today and couple of different towbar fitting companies no one has heard anything about the q5 sunroof issue there was an issue with q7 with sunroof when towing. Just wanted to fully make sure get much research and info Thanks for replying 🙂
  13. R u sure it will be top mount as some people say anti roll bar bushes lol
  14. Hi , I have a 2015 1.4 tfsi. I believe they are sealed for life but lots of information suggesting they still need to done. I am thinking of getting transmission oil and mechatronics fluid changed. 96k km on clock. Is this too late or do you think I'm better to change. Hoping someone with reasonable knowledge can advise. Thanks.
  15. Spare window ordered from Cristal Cabriolet in France; arriving Thursday. I’ll attempt the fitting over the weekend as the mother in law is coming to stay…
  16. Good evening everyone! So, I’m just setting out on the gradual renovation of my 1999 final edition 1.8 Cabriolet. I would like to build up a stock of spares for the garage and squirrel them away for when I need them in the future. There are a few bits I’d be interested in now too: brake bomb; os front headlight unit; central rear light reflector. If considering having a clear out of your stock of old spares, or have a donor car you’d like to sell, please let me know. Especially interested in any panels for the cactus green (British Racing green) model paint code LZ6L. I can assure you that this would be for use on my car and not for resale. Thanks everyone! Chris
  17. Hey there thought I'd give you an update , noise found , not brakes . Turns out it was one of my tires , I could hear it when my wife drove my car , i put on the spare wheel and the noise is gone , I think there's a flat spot on the tire , or else the wheel is buckled but can't see how it buckled as I haven't hit anything. I put on a cheap budget tire to keep me going over Christmas last. Just goes to show cheap tires are so not worth it . Thanks for your help.
  18. I did have the lights set to auto, so the lights were most likely on for a while. Iv been through everything again. Found something that rekoned by holding the accelerator flat for 20 seconds re calibrates or resets the DSG. Tried that to no avail.
  19. Existing ones are original ones 2020 and whilst passed MOT in September with a note they were showing signs perishing the fronts have now been flagged red (following further unrelated work) with 24k miles on vehicle. The rears have 5.3mm of tread whilst the fronts 3.4mm
  20. Fair enough, then it must be something else unless damaged by draining it flat.
  21. I have never known tyres to perish as a result of ageing until well over ten years old. Four years at 10000 miles per year is going to wear them out long before the rubber degrades.
  22. It is pretty new. About a year old.
  23. Forget the voltage of the battery. The right voltage and the ability to start the engine do not mean it is in good condition. Internal faults can interfere with the car's electronics and cause false warning messages and symptoms such as limp mode, loss of radio presets, loss of cruise control etc. So I ask again how old is the battery?
  24. Maybe I haven't explained it well. If the tyres wear, due to mileage and need replacing that's fine. The tyre shop operative said he didnt think that would be the case, though, and they would perish before tread wore out given my milages. It just always bugs me disposing of tyre with decent tread due to perishing.
  25. Hello A ( proper name?) If you are doing 10k/a and expect a set of tyres to still have ‘a decent amount of tread’ after 4 years, then I think you have expectations beyond the reasonable. I just don’t see it, even if you spend on the best. In case it helps:- Based on family experience, if I had a 4x4 type vehicle I would be going with Pirelli Scorpians. I’ve recently fitted a set of Kumho on our largish family saloon. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. A ? - not too fussed on your choice of forum name.
  26. Battery seems fine. Holding 12.5 volts and starts the car good. The old head unit idea sounds promising. Ill give that a go. Thanks for the tip.
  27. Can't believe its taken them 5 months to figure out, still waiting to see if that fixes it.
  28. had same issue with mine. I suspected top mounts. had top mounts, dampers and drop links replaced. been fine for 12 months but now getting the odd creak again. i used Febi Bilstein top mounts and drop links and OEM spec Sachs dampers.
