Help please: A5 '09 S-Line retro-fit optional extras

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I'm a complete novice at all of this, with regards to 'modding' cars, and this is my first audi, but I was wondering the following (though I assume it'll be a no from the start):

I have an S-Line A5, 58 plate, which was not purchased with the S-Line level optional extras of cruise control, heated seats, and sat nav. None of which are deal breakers, but would be amazing to have. Is it possible to fit any of these now? If so, any pointers as to where I can look for the necessary parts and knowledge and/or people to carry out the work would be greatly appreciated.

Fingers crossed something can be done. Heated seats in particular would be nice with leather seats approaching winter...

Just a quick update to the question with the very uninformed information I think I've managed to gather.

I checked ebay and can see some heated seats for my model of car, along with the heating and climate control unit, but what else would I need to make it work? I stumbled upon a multifunctional relay on a parts website, with some stating the support for heated seats, while others didn't. Just unsure as to what parts I'd need to get it all fully functionality and not knackering something else on the car. Also, could a random fool like me put it all together (with some help from a friend who's pretty savvy with these sorts of things) or would I need to get an actual mechanic/technician to do it?

I have found similar stuff, and have similar queries, about cruise control.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, just want to know if it's something feasible and worth pursuing or if I should just accept a slightly less than ideal temperature when I first sit in my car.

Not got an 09 but sure ive read cruise is just a matter of fitting stalk and code. Rear camera is easy job but a fiddle. Contact this guy camera comes with parameters already coded without lines can be out of sink.

Contact and ask for your car. Plug and play just routing cables and coding.

Thank you so much for your reply Dustydes, I really appreciate it as this is a massive world I've entered and I have no idea what I'm doing at the moment! I've reached out to p-d-r to discuss the possibilities, as they don't seem to stock parts for a model as early as mine. But thank you so much for the pointers and contacts. I will continue to look into all of this, any and all information is gratefully received and will be investigated.

While I'm at it, how much do you reckon it'd cost to supercharge my V6? 😂

Hope you get sorted 🙂

Hi Dustydes,

Thanks again for your reply with the information, I contacted the people at p-d-r.co.uk and I think I've irritated them already but I got a lot of very useful information and insights. With the information from yourself and them, I've found out a lot of things I can do and what the limits may be so I'm currently totting up the cost of everything I want to do and trying to budget as lots of money is sadly something I do not possess right now!

Thanks again 🙂
