MMI- wireless connection to Android auto :(

Featured Replies

Hello folks

I have recently taken ownership of a (73) A3 sport, on picking it up from the dealership my phone was paired but I used a cable as I was unsure of the roads, etc. Once home I've tried just going wireless but it is very frustrating as I set off it may work then I get out of the car and return moments later and it won't connect saying Bluetooth connection cannot be established.  It seems very hit and miss so I have to return to cable while driving 😕

can anyone advise me on how to get a stable connection ?? Samsung A54

Kind regards

LB🙂

Switch off your WiFi on the car and try reconnecting via Bluetooth.  It should connect and then give an instruction "Do you want to activate WiFi Connection" or words to that effect.  Then select yes and you should be good to go.

Thank you GregDeR7 that seems to have done the trick, appreciated🙂

I have similar with a Samsung S23 Ultra.  From "cold" always connects first time via wireless.  But won't automatically reconnect when "warm" (after a few minutes to an hour or so).  I have found that toggling bluetooth on the phone (off then on) seems to clear the issue and it reconnects.  Irritating and I'm hoping an updated will fix in due course.

I have moved to a new Pixel 9a, and it seems to suffer the same poor Android Auto connectivity issues with my S3.  Generally (but not always) will connect when "cold", and will only connect when "warm" about 50% of the time.  As with my S23 toggling bluetooth generally sorts it out.  What a faff!

Just back from a holiday (vacation for some) and had a SEAT Arona.  The infotainment felt and looked very Audi MMI.   Anyway, my Android phone connected quickly and reliably to the head unit every time - from cold and warm start.  So it seems to me that any connectivity issues are on the Audi side.    What are other seeing?  Any updates available?
