kingmjo
Hi all, I recently bought a audi a4 avant 53 plate and have noticed an issue when braking lightly. oddly enough this doesnt occur under heavy braking but when braking lightly the ESP light comes up on the dash and when i push the button to turn it back on nothing happens the only way to get it to work again is to switch off and on the engine. I have connected it to a friends computer diagnostic machine but there is nothing logged in the codes about a fault. any ideas other than replacing the sensor. regards,
Glen
To be honest my first thought would be to replace the sensor. Of course there might be something more sinister going on but I doubt it. Glen
mark
Hi, the ESP is turned on by default. Pressing the button turns the system off.
kingmjo
Thanks for that Glen. Mark i know the ESP is on by default this is not the issue. The ESP is cutting out when braking lightly and i am not able to turn it back on with the button it will only reset if i stop turn the engine off and start again. it just doesnt make any sense as to why it trips out and wont re-enable. I'll try and replace the sensor and see if this rectifies the issue. if not i'd imagine this could be an ECU fault :{
Glen
I hope it all works out in the end. It would be great if you could post what the fix was when you find it.
