A4 Wheel & tyre combination

Featured Replies

Hi guys

New member here.

Looking to replace the original 16" wheels on my tdi SE. Car is totally stock, no modifications.

Current wheels are:

7J 16 ET42 with 205/55/16 tyres

The ones I've seen are:

8J 18 ET47 with 245/40/18 tyres

I know the centre bores are different and can put spacer rings to suit.

Question is, will 245 tyres fit without any issues?

Standard option on 18's seems to be 235.

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

I have done similar with my S7 and relied on guidance from easily accessible websites that ask you for your original set up together with your proposed set up, and then show you the impact that the change will have on clearance, speed variants, etc. etc.  I found these sites invaluable and have now completed my upgrade and all is fine.

Give sites a try like: www.willtheyfit.com or www.thewheelcalculator.com
