I've just bought a 2004 A4 Cabriolet and want to fit an aftermarket stereo system.

I notice that the Symphony system in there at the moment sends some information to the dash display (radio station etc).

 

Is this feature custom to the Audi equipment or can it be preserved with an aftermarket system?

 

Also, any opinions on the Pioneer AppRadio systems?

If you put an aftermarket system in then this information will not be sent. It will revert back to date/time or whatever else it displays.

As far as I am aware there is no product to allow this to still show.

 

There is a CanBus interface that allows text from an iPod or USB to be shown if you use the factory stereo but that's about it.
