Brake pad warning light

Featured Replies

My brake pad warning light is on and wont go off the wire that connects to the pads is broken so it got cut and tapped when it was last in the garage,im not to fussed for  the warning light as ill go back to the old school way and listen but is there any way of getting the warning light to stop flashing a fuse or some thing that coukd be disconnected??

There are a couple of ways of illuminating the warning lamp...one is to earth the pad wear sensor against earth (e.g. the disc once the pad wears enough for the sensor to contact the disc and earth out) and the other way is for the sensor to have a loop wire which is broken once the pad sensor wears through. If it is not earthed out then the sensor wire just needs joining up near the connection to loop it out and that should extinguish the lamp.
