Boot release button!

Featured Replies

so its time to start working through the minor problems my "cheap" audi came with....

starting back to front i have so far found:

1. rear wiper broke, managed to bodge this to get the wiper working, although the jet is still not working, hoping this just needs  good clean, but ultimately i need a whole new wiper assembly and jet when funding allows i think...

2. The boot release doesn't seem to work! i can open the boot by holding down the button on the key only. is there a setting for this or something obvious i am missing? or is there a common fault?

I believe the two are linked...usually the washer jet leaks because the hose drops off the jet and then fills the boot lock mechanism.

A simple strip down and rebuilds is all that's required....along with a lot of WD40

a job for when it is warmer and i have the new wiper assembly to fit i think!

what you are saying is possible, however on mine the pipe hasn't come off, the jet is just blocked, so the water runs down the outside of the  boot lid

Fixed it. There's a setting on car settings that I've changed and the boot release now works!

What setting was this? I'm having similar issues as I can't open the boot by pressing the boot button, I can only do it by pressing the fob or the boot button on the drivers side door. Thanks
