Flashing (P) on dash

Featured Replies

Morning guys basically last week i parked up on my driveway put my parking brake on and when I applied it a flashing red (p) popped up on dashboard and the red light on the brake itself was flashing, i left it in gear and switched the engine off then came back out after 30 mins and started and stopped the car a few times and took it for a spin and when i returned it had sorted itself out, again last night it done the same and again sorted itself out but im just wondering if anyone might know what the problem is and possibly how much to rectify.

much appreciated

Not entirely sure why it is coming on but the fact it is going out after a while is that it is going through a self-diagnostic and checking it as functional when the light goes out.

I would be very tempted to check any fault codes with a scan to see what it is coming up to get more of an idea as to what is going on
