SCREEN WASH IN COOLANT RESERVOIR

Hi

A Lady I know has an Audi TT Mk 2.

She recently & inadvertantly put screen wash into the coolant reservoir.

My question is, is that going to create a massive problem & if so how does she get round it.

My argument would be that, apart from additives, screen wash is effectively water with Fairy Liquid mixed and that it should not create a problem.

The other option is to dran the coolant system, flush out with fresh water and refill with pure coolant.

Any idea on whether or not the screen wash is going to damage seals etc?

Regards

The fact it is a soap based product it will foam up inside the system. Get it drained, don't drive it!! £50 top whack spent now will be a lot cheaper than a new engine a few miles down the road.

Hi Dan

Thanks for the advice.

The Lady in the meantime had driven it to Halfords and they drained & refilled the cooling system.

But thank you for prompt and accurate advice.
