Finally got round to cleaning my car and getting my stickers on. Unfortunately spotted a chip on windscreen 😭 So going to have to get Gavin to come and fill my crack in.

Hi everyone, This is my third audi, I've previously had a TTS, Audi A6 Le Mans quattro and now this beast. It's an A7 3.0 biturbo TDi (313PS) Black Edition, fully loaded with extras. I've put up some pics, I love it! Gecko

I'm sure someones head would roll if they did. For what I have read and understand it's quite a serious thing. I'm not one to take things too far I'm happy with my money back not going out of my way to complain too much just want my car and i'm sure its blessing in disguise or I wouldn't have this beauty!

Brad: their explanation was someone part-Xd it for an F-Pace and the order took 4 months, so when the guy brought the car back it wasnt reappraised and the original mileage was recorded on all the paperwork. I did ask for money compensation but they insisted on it being returned. Think they realised they messed up BIG! Let's say it will be jumping to hyper speed lol Xj is a great motor, my dad has an XF great bit of engineering, but then there is Audi haha, I can't believe they sold you it with the wrong mileage!?! was that a proper dealership as well? You should feel a huge difference :D

Hello Huw, Where on earth do a I start? Good question since the simple circuits of years ago have been supplemented by control units which control things we would ever have thought of. By what you say, it could be reasonable to suspect the indicator stalk, but as Trevor says any of the associated contacts - including the earth of 'what on earth!' may be at fault. Not being one to give up on DIY cures, but access to curcuit information, metering equipment and experience of such issues on certain models are really essential requirements. Let's hope someone might come up with a solution, but if not, sometimes a hour of an auto electrician's time might be a wirthwhile consideration. Not sure what part of S. Wales you are from, but there is a good one man band auto electrician in Bridgend - of course there will be others. Hoping you get some more advise on how to cure it. Kind regards, Gareth.

If you save up for the RossTech VCDS I say get it.. worth it on the long run so no more call out charges on diagnostics when this kit will do it for you then you can fix the problem your if possible done it many times with my mates Ross tech vcds. im thinking of getting one myself cause I want to do a few mods e.g. Needle sweep and dim my dry lights as I think it's way too bright.

I'm a Night auditor at ibis & I'm training to become a Duty Manager at the process of working. Long nights but worth it. I am also studying an IT degree at uni. On my second year so hopefully my future career will be IT focused.

I think the reason why I love Audi is the build quality. Their cars feel sturdy and durable. 👍🏼

I have an Audi A3 2 litre TDI 62 plate. Was contacted for the emission fix in Oct 16. After 300 miles the car went into limp mode and the EGR light came on. Went back to Audi who stated the problem had nothing to do with the fix and quoted £1200 for a new EGR valve. Still saving up to have the car repaired. My advice don't have the fix!!!

Thanks Trevor. The cable loom is buried inside the tailgate hinge on this car which means stripping off the trim so I'll do that when the weather is a bit warmer! I forgot to mention that the rear wiper starts up directly I turn the ignition on, without me touching the switch. It does about 10 sweeps and then "parks where it pleases". I just hope the problem is not the switch itself because it seems quite a work up to change that. I was hoping that somebodymay have solved a similar problem. I'll keep you posted. Regards Jim

I take Trevor's point, but if it were mine, I would take it that with 7000 miles recorded at the time of sale, the dealer should consider that it does not need servicing when you take delivery. It will however then require a service when you reach 10,000 miles. Boiled down:- dealer services it (early) before you buy, then you need to have it serviced at 17,000. Dealer doesn't service before you buy it, then you need to service it at 10,000. I guess the 10,000 mile interval will be that or 1 year - whatever comes first. I think if I were buying then I would opt to let it run to 10k, and then have an arrangement with the dealer to return it for a free service at the 10K. Kind regards, Gareth.

Hi blackwolf. If you go on youtube and type q5 oil sensor it will tell you exactly where it is.

Tej. I too have the semi automatic gearbox (I think it is called DSG), and it does actually transmit a tiny amount of power at idle when in D, possibly it's just viscous drag from the oil rather than clutch friction. Not enough to hold on any sort of gradient, but on a level smooth road it will just about try to creep forward. I find take off as the throttle is opened to occasionally be jerky with lots of lurching at about 1000 - 1100 rpm, though most of the time it is smooth and progressive. The whole experience is nowhere near as predictable or controllable as any of the fully automatic gearboxes with torque converters I have driven for the previous 28 years.

Ok guys, thanks for all your replies and advise on this subject. I have decided to purchase another turbo off ebay for £185, its a recon but it comes with a two year warrenty so I'm happy. Car is booked in on Monday 13th ( ohh ekk ) and I will post back to let you know how the car runs, hopefully limp mode has gone. I have provided a link for the turbo on ebay and the seller said they are happy to help and accommodate any forums members. Hope this help anyone on here. more people than i thought do it, but you're right its not out there in the masses and i'm kind of glad, there's enough competition for used cooking as it is lol. i think it is not for the faint of heart, you are basically using old cooking oil (that usually stinks), Methanol and caustic (both are truly awful chemicals) to create fuel to put in your pride and joy. yeah, come to think of it, what the hell am i doing haha. I've been doing this for around 3 years, its a hobby, great for the environment and saves me dosh!

There are some real nice looking lights there like the look of the black led ones.
