  1. Hi Simon I would say that the curbing incident would definitely have shortened the link as you have discovered. I haven't actually come across unequal length lower arms before and if they were you would see the length comparison on sites like Eurocarparts where they list information about the product. Cheers, Trevor
  2. Hello Mathew, Was the coolant temperature sensor a main dealer part? Kind regards, Gareth.
  3. Magic here is a web where you can decode your spec . http://prsearch.planetvag.com/ Simply enter values from your build sticker located under the spare wheel or in your handbook
  4. As you have a tdi my guess is your car is doing an active DPF regen. The ecu monitors the level of soot build up in the DPF (Diesel Particulates Filter). Lots of short journies where the car doesn't reach normal operating temp can cause soot build up. Every now and again the car needs to clear soot from the DPF. Normally a 20 to 30 min run at decent speed will do it but if that doesn't happen the ecu injects a second shot of diesel on the exhaust stroke this increases the exhaust gas temp whichs burns the soot from the DPF. The fans you hear are just cooling everything down as you stopped the car. You can sometimes smell the soot burning. Got to admit its a bit concerning first time you hear as it sounds like the car is about to take off but its really nothing to worry about. If you're getting this every time you turn the car off it sounds like the dpf regen isn't completing so the ecu tries again next time you use the car. If this keeps happening, Absolute worst case the DPF cloggs up and you'll get an error light on the dash this means a trip to the stealer.
