  1. I feel your pain! I caught my a6 front bumper the other day when taking it to the garage! Mine will need the lower bumper respraying :( I'd say buy a new bumper on eBay and not to put it through the insurance. They might try and write it off!
  2. What a nightmare!! you could melt this back together (okay for plastic melting rods) or fibre glass it from behind. (I would do a little bit of both) but melting/welding it back together will be the least unsightly afterwards. However, as it's not a rare colour you might find a half decent second hand one on eBay or try 247 Spares many others available!! You might be lucky and get one in the right colour.
  3. Your welcome :) you may find your car may have a tyre inflation kit.
  4. Colleague had one fitted - non Audi franchise fitted it and cocked up the Air Suspension calibration. Not sure if yours has Air Sus but something to note...
  5. My neighbour has a swanneck towbar fitted to his A7 and had it removed from his old A7 to fit to his new one, so I suppose it's an outlay but if you replace the car in a few years then at least you can remove the whole assembly and refit to a new one or sell it to get some of your money back.

One thing to be careful of is the suspension. Audi used a complicated adaptive system (not air suspension) and when it goes wrong it's expensive to put right. The system is designed to keep the car flat through the corners. You'll find that some rs6's have been converted to coilovers as it's cheaper than fixing the Audi system. Id advise finding one with good service history (ideally full) as the rs6 can be costly to fix if it goes wrong (i.e. The gearbox). Oh and low mileage as poss. Check for crash damage and damage to the rear arches. Rear arches in the a6 c5 aren't known to rust unless a repair has been carried out. Body parts can also be expensive and with regard to body work Audis and VWs from this era also suffered from the front wings rusting at the top of the arch. Never seen it on an rs6 mind but the a6 c5, a4, golf mk4, bora etc were all affected. Oh and make sure all electrical components work. For example it can cost over a £1000 to fix the aircon if the pumps/condensers etc are broken. they are cracking cars and will be a future classic :) hope iv helped :) cheers steve

I have a similar problem, except with mine the PRNDS comes on permanently(limp mode) & I can't use the manual 123456, but drives fine in Auto(inc Sports mode). Seems to happen more during the Winter months. Audi reckon mine is a corroded earth somewhere and in damp weather cause's the gearbox software to glitch. They did a full diagnostic check & found no fault with Gearbox.Advised could cost a fortune to trace the faulty earth.
  8. Still in the garage Trevor :/ so I have no news yet unfortunately :/
  9. Perfect. Just what I was looking for. Thanks!
