Hi, I did yes- it was the Mechatronic unit. The part cost £1300 plus vat! Are you getting same codes as mentioned in my previous post?

Just spoken to my garage, they are fitting me in for Wednesday to remove the instrument cluster and get it sent away for repair..... if it is repairable. If not, I guess it's eBay time!!

This has happened to me twice and covered by warranty- it’s a known fault.

I am being "testy" as you call it because the forum is being plagued by people like yourself who pose questions and never bother to look at the replies that others have spent time and effort on. If your problem was important enough to spend time composing your questions, surely it is worth a little more time to read and aknowledge their replies? Is that really too much to expect? If nothing else, the matter is one of good manners.

Hello Roderick, Pricing things is a little like trying to price a house - costs vary from area to area. Way forward:- Check sump price on line :- EBay, Parts in Motion etc. etc. As you probably know, parts aren’t cheap anymore. The £428 - forget VAT, we’ve all got to pay it! - doesn’t surprise me if it works out at a 2 hr. job. Labour ( this is where we don’t know your local rates) is likely to be c£120/ hr., so you have over half your cost there. Perhaps you could let us know the sump (ribbed aluminium?) price Roderick, once you have had some quotes. Issue with your current sump? Thread damage perhaps? If so, considered Helicoil? Thanks for replying Ya I'm getting the same codes gave it to dealer last week they replaced v552 pump ,paid 1500€ I collected the car broke down again after 30 minutes .now dealer wants 4900€ to replace the mechtronic Im just going to rebuild the mechtronic Thanks again
