  1. If the garage that reconditioned the turbo are willing to take it back in then that's the way to go. A few quid on fuel versus a few hundred quid on another turbo is a no brainer. Even if the turbo turns out to be ok at least that one cause off the list.
  2. Hi from my perspective you would be better off with the original D2s the service life for LED units aftermarket is probably less than the HID because %99 of them are Chinese and for some peculiar reason have cooling fans attached to them, the D2s works straight out of the box, LEDs do create more heat and annihilate the beam pattern, So if you want a cheeky upgrade go for 5000-5500 kelvin D2s no extra heat just a whiter light, try Vally Lighting on eBay, I used their D5s units, fair price and only got a bit dim after two years and 100,000 miles [cab working nights]. Steve.
  3. Hello, That’s the one. They will advise you on which update set you need. Also best to ask them for your installation guide as a PDF. It is very specific and must be followed to the letter! You get 3 x SD cards… Firmware, Maps and activation. It takes around 4 hours to complete. I chose to let my car run right through the tie it takes as you want to avoid any hiccups along the way. If you get stuck their customer service is very good - I spoke to David who answered all my queries very promptly. Hope it works for !Removed! well as it did for me Best regards, David👍
  4. Hello Rabin, The poster hasn’t returned to the forum for over 3 years, so best to send him a PM in the hope he may reply.
  5. Hello Alun, If you ran the battery down just ‘playing with’ the electrics, then it’s quite likely the battery is well past its best, and no longer able to support a stop/start facility. Yes, I understand the battery will be c just 4 year old ( and now out of warranty), but this vehicle is likely to have been caught up in the Covid issue of lack of ‘chips’ and might well have been sitting around for months - bad news for batteries. If it were mine, I would drive it around to a Halfords store and get the battery efficiency checked, before doing anything else. With respect to your wallet - again if it were mine- I would not be getting a new one at Halfords - just come back to us with the outcome. If the battery is serviceable then we can move on. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  6. Problem with all this is (apart from octane benefit in tuned engines) there is lack of evidence obtained in a controlled environment and all of the supposed benefits are long term. So apart from having two identical engines run for 100k miles in similar circumstances on the different fuels and then dismantling them, it's all guesswork. Is it marketing hype for more profit or real benefit? Those who buy on 3 year PCP then change car won't see any benefit. If your injectors block after 100k miles you still won't know it they've been affected by the fuel. Hence there is always disagreement on the benefits.
  7. Hello, Managed to find aa used glove box with fridge for £80 including a CD multi changer. No wiring just take the old glove box out and find the cap from the Evaporator and remove the plug and fit the pipe. Then replace the glove box and connect the screw in pipe into the back of the glove box and hey presto I have a fridge and it works. You can regulate it as well. Just a slight problem in that my car is grey and the replacement glove box was black. However you cant see it when closed and I swapped the lid over so all good. Well worth it I think? Best regards, David👍
