Lots of anti rattle tape on the net of varying thicknesses. Worth having some handy when you take the door card off just in case. I find proper car cloth electrical insulation tape deals with any loose bits and pieces has good adhesion.
  2. Hi Gareth Thanks for asking. They are a nightmare. sent them proof of age from Audi De, also the NOVA certification. They came back and asked for the foreign registration document, which I previously advised I didn’t have. They then asked for an explanation as to to why there was no foreign registration document. This s was despite me previously advising why there was no documents. I have now responded yet again with the reasons behind this. I’m hoping this is me in the final stretch, but I’m not counting my chickens! The car is on their system as it left the UK for Ireland in 2017! I will update as soon as I hear, hopefully with positive news jim
  3. Thanks for the replies. Looks like replacing is the best option. I too have done some investigation after posting this thread and I might try this DIY fix first, as I checked the price of a second hand headlight unit and I had to quickly sit back down. Agree that disabling probably isn't suitable, I don't have the VCDS or OBD11 and then I would have to reactivate again at MOT time and it still wouldn't be working.
  4. What's the point if the lights are not working when reactivated for the MOT? One might as well fix the lights and leave then operable.
  5. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
