  1. So …… I ended taking it to my local garage( not many options in the western isles of Scotland) , they had a look but didn’t want to try and fix and suggested I take it to a dealer . I gave it an oil change and traded it to Audi , it was a 150 mile trip and the car drove like a dream. Sad to see it go and I now see that’s it’s for sale near London . I got 25 plate A5 and so far so good , apart from a couple of warning lights 🙈
  2. Thanks again Sid I also found similar but steered away from it as camera dint appear to be the same. I've sorted it now with the switch off eBay. Which can also be purchased from RS. It's an omron switch part no D2HW A201D Photos attached show the tabs soldered on to allow the original wiring harness plug to connect. Bit fiddly but it works. Link to switch on RS https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=Omron+D2HW+A201D
  3. Thanks I have booked in for engine diagnostics thanks
  4. I think you’re correct because that is a rare spec. Just remember to disconnect battery and have steering set straight ahead and steering angle sensor doesn’t rotate when wheel is removed and all will be good
  5. Yes 2 is squib ring/steering angle sensor
  6. They come as a complete unit unfortunately unlike some other brands.

Worth searching EBay for general service parts. Regards, Gareth.
  8. Found this, not sure it’s exactly the same as Factory handle but the one I fitted fits and works the same, picture quality exactly the same also
  9. Thanks did I've stripped the unit and sourced similar switches off eBay. Will need to modify the electrical terminals to suit the existing plug on the wiring harness. Couldn't find anything on Ali express 👍

  11. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
  12. Hi, I suffered the same issue. I think we can never keep away from that problem. I removed the wiper motor by removing the plastic trim covering the area first (just undo the two screws inside the both handles that could not be seen unless you bend over) and then by pulling the trim backwards. You can easily remove the motor by undoing the three 10 mm nuts, motor connector and thin water hose, after removing the 13 mm nut under the wiper arm. Remember that you should gently remove the plastic cover to see the 13 mm nut under the cover. Remember to wiggle the wiper arm to get the motor assembly from the tailgate. Place the wiper on the bench. Remove the electric motor from the wiper section in which the gear placed. And, undo the 6 torx screws from the wiper section. You will see water, rust and contaminated grease remains inside other than a worm gear, a gear, and an arm that moving the wiper. Clean everything and lubricate using a thin grease and then reassemble everything. It is not complicated job and after fixing the wiper motor, I have been using it for almost two months and had no problem with that. Good luck...
