  1. can take up to 5 goes to clear, 5 trips
  2. Thanks. I look forward to reading the outcome.
  3. I am still looking for the problem. I've not yet been able to replace the vents in question. I've since been advised on a split in the hose to the rear washer
  4. It passed the MOT, which was a relief although now my wife wants me to sell the car before anything else goes wrong ha! Now that the car has passed the MOT and i've got another year out of it I feel better about the purchase, the window regulator will need to be a next month / next pay check issue but I feel like with regular service and care the car could last a good bit longer. Thanks for you your help and guidance thus far guys!
  5. it’s built into the display, no physical button.
  6. No you haven't! Your battery was undoubtedly dying and in need of replacement, but that's not to say it was the only fault with the car. No reliable electrical diagnosis can happen until there a stable power supply, so the next step is get the car scanned on a decent code reader.
  7. Hi Gareth - I pulled off the electronic history and that shows annual servicing at Audi dealers for the 1st 6 years of its life. It looks like the 2nd owner hardly used it as there's a period from Aug 22 to Aug 24 (the MOT dates) where there is no =service or inspection recorded but it only covered 6000 miles in those 2 years according to MOT data. This is further boune out by the advisory for the front brake disc/pads in the 2023 MOT. This advisory appeared again in the 2024 MOT. Around this time I guess it might have been sold (3 owners total) and the new owner probably had the brakes fixed as the next service was in Germany Audi Frankfurt in 2025 where they did the whole thing, incl the G/box service (42000 mile). I'd have like to have seen the g/box service being done sooner, but I'm not too worried by that... (or should I be 😏?) The MOT in Aug 25 shows that the advisories for the brakes are clear and the next service was in Jan 26 (oil). To be honest I'm pretty comfortable that the history appears genuine. The only things I'm not sure about service intervals for things like the ad-blue (never had it b4) and if the air suspension needs servicing from time to time. Perhaps the servicing questions are best discussed in a new thread, but I'll have a look see if there are any threads about this. I'm aware that the car computer will advise of service intervals, but I have always done shorter service intervals - Preventative maintenance is always cheaper in the long run.
  8. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
