  1. Hi I have a part time job of collecting and delivering new cars. I have been doing this for about 8 years. It could be 1 per month or 3 a week. so, I do a lot of road trips each year. Last week for instance I travelled to Aberystwyth by train and returned with a Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid. Waze satnav routed me right down the centre of Wales. The road was great, no traffic, lovely villages, a really good drive. Picked up M4 at Newport then home. (and I get paid). Scotland 8 times last year. Southern Ireland once. It's a great job as long as you like driving. It does have it's down side though. Try taking a Renault Zoe to South Wales, when Membury charge point not operative. Had to get it trailed to next services for a recharge, then only just managed it. Talk about range anxiety. Constantly checking battery range against satnav mileage. Off to Lincoln on Monday. Tony

  2. Hi Gareth, I suspect electrical as on occasion heard strange sounds from behind climate control unit just before heater stopped working and not since, also, both inlet and outlet pipes through bulkhead are hot, and with the recent flush, no sign of blockage, I would've thought that if it was the matrix, then it would have been a gradual loss of heat, not more or less instant. 3. Just for your info, and to show how things change. Lincoln cancelled until next Friday 12th. Now going to Wigan on Monday to bring back a MG ZS EV. Have to do some calculations as to where to recharge. If you stop too early you may have to stop again. It's 255 miles and the battery range is approx 150 depending on temperature. M6 Corley is 111 miles and M1 Watford Gap is 145 miles. It's going to be tight. Wish I was driving my A6 diesel.

  4. Hi, I have owned 12 Audi's over the past 25 years, all but 2 being A4 Avant diesels, I am currently on my 2nd A4 Allroad, a 67 plate which I cannot fault. all of my cars have been 2ltr, I see the one you are considering is a 3ltr. as the car has only 23,000 miles I would not be concerned, as that engine is fitted across the Audi range, if you are buying from a main dealer, you will probably be offered a 2 year warranty anyway, regarding other things to look out for, in my opinion there is nothing really, as long as you are happy with the car. by the way you have extra ground clearance with the Allroad as well, and there is no a great difference in fuel consumption. hope that helps Brian.

  5. i recently bought a A3 2L TDI 2007 with 14700MILES on the clock. first time i bought a diesal ,it came with 'full service history'. on careful inspection this 'full service history' became very suspect. several entrys were the same stamp with items ticked with the same colour ink and in such a way as to my opinion by the same person in one sitting , if you get my drift. anyway the engine sounded ,good, to my ear and ran ok. it smoked a bit on start up , blue smoke. to be sure of the timing belt i had it replaced along with the other belt and had an oil change. half shaft gaitors were shot, not picked up on the recent MOT provided by the seller, not sure as to the quality of the MOT, changing the oil did make a difference to the sound of the engine. i also did a fuel additive, after the first 400 miles it had made an overall difference , now on the third full tank with the additive and on a run i have had 50mpg. i still have a whistle on low revs up to 30 mph but is livable , would appear to have been a lack of maintenance or running the oil to a low level resulting in bearing deterioration on the turbo charger. had my last Audi for 19 years 1.8 petrol A4 Avent
