Hi mate, I know exactly what they’re talking bout with the discs. The factory discs corrode on the outer edge quite badly. I switch between summer and winter wheels every 6 months so I clean the discs up when I have the wheels off. This only applies to the front brakes. I’ll try and upload some pics.

Hi guys, I don’t post often but thought I would share my experience with my Q7. It’s a 2019 50TDI Vorsprung in black. It’s got the factory 22 inch alloys, black badges, black exhaust tips and a dark grey interior. This is all factory afaik. I bought the car in 2020 with 9600 miles on the clock as an Audi used approved car after the original owner decided it was too big for them apparently. This was just after the end of the first Covid lockdown and they were desperate to sell it ha ha haaa. The car has full Audi service history and currently has 96,770 miles on the clock. I extended the warranty up until earlier this year for piece of mind but I decided not to continue it any more. Servicing costs me £21.74 a month with Audi main dealer and for this they take care of everything** Any and all filters needing changed are done. Fuel, cabin and air filters as well as routine oil and filter. I have the condition based servicing (up to 19,000 miles) but that only lasts me about 12-14 months byway so it gets an annual service in effect. **Apart from routine servicing, I had the gearbox serviced locally to me as the box was tending to hold gears too long. That was at about 85,000 miles and they company said it needed sound when it was in due to the condition of the oil. I tow trailers and load the car from time to time. I change the wiper blades every 2 years as they tend to streak after this point. I had the brakes done at 50,000 miles but they could have comfortably done 60,000 miles tbh. This is my change point. I do one set of discs to 2 sets of pads as I have with any other car I’ve owned. But the factory front discs corroded badly on the edges and wore the discs badly so I switched them out for factory replacements and they seem fine this time round. Tyres: I run the factory Hankook 22 inch tyres in the summer and I have a second set of winter wheels in 20 inch I use in the winter. I am still on my second second set of summer tyres and my first set of winter tyres (with the winter wheels about to go back on next week and they will see me through). I’m on 96,770 miles as of now so I’m looking at 33-35,000 miles per set of tyres. No horror stories on the tyre wear. Repairs: Ok so far repairs in over 5 years and 85,000+ miles comes to £85. That was for the dreaded brake servo pressure sensor. The part cost £85. It was 2 minutes to change it out and 30 minutes to boot up my old laptop with the VCDS software on it. Yes, I had the extended warranty but I could do it same day and not wait, plus it was cheaper than the excess. In summary, it’s been a brilliant car and I still really enjoy it so I’ll be keeping it for a while longer. It doesn’t cost any more than an unassuming Ford (not hating here lol) to maintain. Hopefully this will help a potential owner of a used Audi Q7. Don’t believe all the horror stories about big repair bills or chewing of tyres. Yeah I read the stories about tyre wear etc but not had an issue. I’m getting about 40mpg combined in a 50TDI. I’m mostly in Efficiency mode as the suspension handles the potholes better rather than Dynamic lol. But yeah, Vorsprung is a nice place to be 🙂

Vorsprung also come with a sub in the boot. Brilliant sound quality, definitely worth the extra.

I have a 19 plate Vorsprung with the factory 22s. I’m on 62,000 miles and I have about 5mm left on my second set of Hankooks. I also run a set of 20s with winter tyres each winter and they have seen 3 winters and will do me another winter at least. I do a lot of motorway driving but I’m on track for 30,000 miles a set. Just rotate them periodically as the front do wear slightly faster. Chur

I bought these in the end: Toyo Snowprox S954 SUV 285/45R20 112 V XL I used them in Switzerland and they were great in the snow and ice. I’ve put them back on the car this winter too as I do a fair commute. Plus it helps keep my 22s out of the salt on the winter roads. They aren’t as smooth as the factory wheels though.

They’re just regular tyres. Prices have gone up a lot since I bought a set though.

For reference, I bought a set of 20” wheels and had my winter tyres fitted to them. They clear the brake calipers no issues. You need to get the 4M wheels though as they changed the PCD.

Hi guys, I have a 2019 Q7 Vorsprung and I work in Switzerland. I’ll need to fit winter tyres when the time comes. Does anyone know if I can fit smaller wheels than the 22” and still clear the brakes? Hoping to fit smaller cheaper wheels and tyres and gain some more rubber. Cheers, Andy
