Hi Steve, that's great news hope I have managed to bag a bargain, earlier in the post a guy called Roy was asking me if it was the 1st or 2nd one, could you shed any light on this as he just stopped replying to me for some reason ha,I'm so intrigued to find out more about what I have bought

    Hi,

When I said Ist or 2nd one I was refering to the pictures that you posted.

There are two yellow cars in those pictures and I was asking which one it was.

    Sorry for any confusion.

    This is the other one.

  2. Went on a ride to Leicester yesterday,(104f) in my A6 and my son was driving.

Comming back he asked me where the knob was for adjusting the instrument lighting, I am ashamed to say, I didn't have a clue.

    I said, " I don't know, I never drive in the dark".

    Where is it ?

  3. I am still using the 3G edition that the car came with in 2009.

I can only use five characters in the postcode.

Do later updates let you enter the whole six-character postcode?

    • I had a very similar problem when I was trying to remove a long steele bolt from my Virago aluminium engine.
    • I purchased a rattle gun (Off ebay) . It came out in no time.
    • The constant vibration slowly loosened it up, then it started to spin and walla.

hi roy,i only purchased mine 3 months ago and only ever had the small screen option but your right as i remember seeing it on a pals full screen so maybe theres a way to change it.some one on here might have a solution as id like to have the full screen too.

The size option is stil there but it has been greyed out so that it does not work.

If i remember correctly, it was a sod to reduce it if you went too big.

Hi Roy if you will have to get the correct callipers as even if you get the EPB to retract they won't magically adapt to fit the existing discs as the vented brake pads are different in thickness, did you retract the EPB before you dismantled the old calliper set up as if you had the right calliper /carrier replacement it would have been a straightforward case of fitting then reactivating the EPB

    Steve.

    Hi Steve,

Luckily, I had the correct new rear vented disc, identical in every way to the original disc.

I tried a dry run on the bench and found that the disc was too thick for the groove in the new carrier and the groove in the new calliper.

I then realized that the callipers that I had were for a solid, thinner disc so I didn't even bother trying to fit them.

I now need to open the EPB to fit the new rear vented disk, no point in waisting it.

When I have eventually got my sand blaster up and running I will clean and paint my existing rear callipers.

Hi Roy why do you want to one the parking brake system?, thought you had already done the pads and callipers.

I ground all the sharp corners off, painted the callipers and carriers but when I came to fit them found that the callipers and carriers were for a solid disc not the vented disc like I have.

will have a look at better quality stickers for the next batch....maybe a different type to run alongside these ones....any thoughts?

I like the idea of a club sticker, but not this stile, It looks like a car dealership sticker.
